Recommend a Used Apple Tablet

There is no iPad mini M1. The Mini is portable so nice for flights. The 12.9 Pro is heavy.
 
I have the 9th gen I got on the BF deal for R185 p/m and have no issues with it. Don't need cellular as I just Hotspot from phone when I don't have Wi-Fi. Works perfectly.

Cellular does give GPS though. That's the only advantage. But these days cheap phones have GPS so it's not essential.
 
Any iPad (don’t do Pro for your needs/budget) will be fine, the 7th, 8th or 9th Gen.

The performance difference for those 3 are marginal.

You should be able find a healthy amount on Marketplace, obviously do your checks & wear your pragmatic hat.

ie if it’s being sold by a foreign national from a country north of South Africa think twice or thrice.
Those crooked cnts sell stolen devices almost exclusively and if it is an Apple device you can bet some Pakistani shop did a stop gap "fix" and the minute you do a reset the device gets locked in some fashion. And if it’s not that then it’s been at the same Pakistani shop and a shtty screen/battery/etc has been fitted.

And I'm sorry, did I say I wanted it? I said that cellular does give you GPS. Where did you see that I said I wanted it there?

But there are uses where one may want it. FFS.

Can always buy on Ebay or MacSales.
 
I got the air M1. I use it primarily for media consumption and the CPU is far more capable enough for that.

The battery also just lives on and on and on…

the pro is obviously a better choice but I had bought 1 pro and the M1 and wanted to give one as a gift to a family member and when I thought about it carefully I realized he would do more with the pro than I’m going to, I prefer my Mac. So yeah, the Air has been fine.

Now of course.. there’s new ones :) and my pocket is a burning…

M1 and 2 Pros are heavy. Maybe the M4 is lighter.

Android tablet with Kodi and Cumination addon is better.
