Recording ingame music

Hi guys,

Hope you're all enjoying the festive season so far.

Machine:

Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

What I want:

I would like to record the music in my games, but I don't want the video, only the audio.

Let's take a game like WOW for example. As I play the game there's obviously audio. Region music... sounds effects of me killing mobs etc.

I would like to record the audio of that... for however long. Record for 1 hr or 30 minutes or whatever.

Is there software that can do that?

I thought about fraps, but that records the video too. Maybe I can use fraps and then just encode the video with sound into an .mp3 or something?

You could try something like Audacity (free) : https://www.audacityteam.org/

You should be able to set your audio input device as system sound or similar. Hit record and start playing the game.

Thank you my friend, however WOW was merely an example I used. I don't even play it. lol.
