I'm in the process of planning a new PC, but obviously want to try and avoid the ridiculous prices that some (or most) stores charge for components. If anyone has the latest CT rectron pricelist that they can send to me (PM), it would help a lot.

If the regions don't differ in terms of prices, any other recent one will be fine.

This topic might turn ....no it will turn into a love and hate one.

Suggest you follow suggestion above ^^

Pretty straightforward, you a registered dealer, you should have access to the pricelist.

/gets his popcorn buttered and ready :D

Edit: glad they finally changed their site. Looks better

Landmarkpc is not so bad last time I've used them. Here in PTA I would suggest titanice :)

Dude it is actually cheaper to buy online than it is to buy from rectron. You know those ridiculous prices you speak of? well you want a pricelist from one of those companies :p

Agreed, they and bethesda is really overpriced.

Agreed, you can get most stuff cheaper online and couriered to your door. Rectron Cape Town also never has stock of anything, last time I wanted to order about 5 items and they were out of stock on 3 of them.

If I were to send you the price list, how would that help you - you cannot buy from them if you are not a registered reseller? You would end up having pay those "ridiculous prices" anyway...
As above, go online and see what specials various people have - Rebel Tech, Prophecy, Sybaritic, Nivo, even Esquire

i struggle to find things cheaper on the net? I agree some things are more expensive but my guess is that they don't move the stock and still charge what they paid for it.
Plasma's etc...about the only thing i can find cheaper.

Also their return policy is excellent vs esquire for example...
they also have a lot more "quality" stuff if you know what i mean...

Blizzard, if you're shopping online, checkout mitabyte.co.za. But maybe you'll have more joy here if you tell us what you're building, and what price you're getting. And we can give you a headsup if we find anything better.

I've never heard of Mitabyte before, although it seems that their domain name has been registered for almost 4 years now.
Their range of brands that they offer for PC components are very small, and they seem to offer mostly cheap brands, so don't be fooled if the prices are cheap.
If you compare prices, make sure that you compare with the same brand at other shops! Also, I don't know why someone would list a Durban shop if someone is asking for the Cape Town Rectron price list!

If you want to advertise your shop, then you might want to register as a reseller on this forum, or at least put your shop's URL in your signature ;)
There has been quite a few requests for PC shops around the Durban area, so you should really try and capitalize on that, because PC Zone has a terrible reputation when it comes to customer service, and they're the only shop that comes to my mind for the Durban area.

If you're in Cape Town, then rather have a look at Wootware, Landmark PC and Take2. Other online PC shops that you can also have a look at for good prices are: Prophecy Shop, Sybaritic, Titan-Ice & Rebeltech.
I usually just search on the Shop bot sites like Jump, Shopmania, Shopbot & Pricecheck for the cheapest prices, or on Google with the 'site:za' suffix.

If some resellers are cheaper than the wholesalers then where the heck they gettin their goods from? Because as far as I can imagine no PC shop has such an insane amount of stock turnover that they can bulk it like Makro  and online retailers surely can't afford to stock huge warehouses of stuff that loses value over such a short time.

Or am I wrong and these guys really push out stock of all these brands as quick as that?
