Honestly, not really. The only issue I really have is a single case, where an alternative can't be offered. For everything else, there have been alternatives.

Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover. On a pivotal operation like Rectron and its busier downstream retailers, it would be quite significant.

As I said most companies wouldn't have the skills to fully investigate. It does take time but it also gives you the assurance that the hole has been closed, any lateral movement has been identified, backdoors or Trojans identified and eliminated, data exfiltration identified, so you can make a full and accurate report to whoever has a stake in this.

Also if they ever catch the guy and it goes to court you'd want someone who is qualified to investigate and collect evidence.

External companies that specialise in this see these attacks everyday and have the expertise so can get to the bottom of it a lot quicker. It's not often the company's cybersecurity team get to deal with ransomware.

How exactly can I as a consumer, buy a dozen 9950X3D's/64Gb Ram for each system, RTX 5070ti/5080's depending on price x 12, Mainboards like Tomahawk B850 WiFi x12, and Class A PSU's x 12, preferably Super-Flower Leadex VII 1300w from them?

Surely they could sell a dozen good sets of each component to an end user or are they inflexible in their "|Retailer Only Sales" policy? 13% is a lot of money to save when buying bulk.

I'm not at all sure what you mean. I'm saying there are other distis who are far cheaper than Rectron - 13% cheaper in the example I gave.

They are quite renowned for refusing account applications if you don't meet the following criteria:

* Monthly volumes of X ZAR
* Company Founding Statement and Registered Business Activity at CIPC does not say COMPUTERS/IT/COMPUTER DEALER, etc
* If they even suspect you registered a company to get access to their products but you still work the day job and earning money on the side at night by selling computers. They busted me for this years ago.
