For years alreadyFun fact Rectron supplies everyone.
Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.Fun fact Rectron supplies everyone.
yep.Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.
Honestly, not really. The only issue I really have is a single case, where an alternative can't be offered. For everything else, there have been alternatives.Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.
Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover. On a pivotal operation like Rectron and its busier downstream retailers, it would be quite significant.Honestly, not really. Also if they ever catch the guy and it goes to court you'd want someone who is qualified to investigate and collect evidence. As I said most companies wouldn't have the skills to fully investigate. It does take time but it also gives you the assurance that the hole has been closed, any lateral movement has been identified, backdoors or Trojans identified and eliminated, data exfiltration identified, so you can make a full and accurate report to whoever has a stake in this.
Rectron isn't exactly cheap. Alternatives are generally cheaper, and often significantly so. Stupid example, Ryzen 5 9600X, 13% more than elsewhere. Very often, a BETTER alternative can be offered for the same price or lower.Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover
This is causing Rectron's retailers to lose money. Earlier this week I was forced to go to evetech for a component![]()

You won't, partially because they don't sell half of your listHow exactly can I as a consumer, buy a dozen 9950X3D's/64Gb Ram for each system, RTX 5070ti/5080's depending on price x 12, Mainboards like Tomahawk B850 WiFi x12, and Class A PSU's x 12, preferably Super-Flower Leadex VII 1300w from them?
I'm not at all sure what you mean. I'm saying there are other distis who are far cheaper than Rectron - 13% cheaper in the example I gave.13% is a lot of money to save when buying bulk.
They are quite renowned for refusing account applications if you don't meet the following criteria:You won't, partially because they don't sell half of your list
But no, as a consumer they won't deal with you. They're quite renowned for closing accounts that don't meet the monthly order requirements, and that leaves you in a pickle if anything is ever returned under warranty and credited.
