For years alreadyFun fact Rectron supplies everyone.
Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.Fun fact Rectron supplies everyone.
yep.Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.
Honestly, not really. The only issue I really have is a single case, where an alternative can't be offered. For everything else, there have been alternatives.Hence my original post: This is costing both Rectron and its downstream retailers a pretty penny.
Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover. On a pivotal operation like Rectron and its busier downstream retailers, it would be quite significant.Honestly, not really. Also if they ever catch the guy and it goes to court you'd want someone who is qualified to investigate and collect evidence. As I said most companies wouldn't have the skills to fully investigate. It does take time but it also gives you the assurance that the hole has been closed, any lateral movement has been identified, backdoors or Trojans identified and eliminated, data exfiltration identified, so you can make a full and accurate report to whoever has a stake in this.
Rectron isn't exactly cheap. Alternatives are generally cheaper, and often significantly so. Stupid example, Ryzen 5 9600X, 13% more than elsewhere. Very often, a BETTER alternative can be offered for the same price or lower.Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover
This is causing Rectron's retailers to lose money. Earlier this week I was forced to go to evetech for a component![]()

You won't, partially because they don't sell half of your listHow exactly can I as a consumer, buy a dozen 9950X3D's/64Gb Ram for each system, RTX 5070ti/5080's depending on price x 12, Mainboards like Tomahawk B850 WiFi x12, and Class A PSU's x 12, preferably Super-Flower Leadex VII 1300w from them?
I'm not at all sure what you mean. I'm saying there are other distis who are far cheaper than Rectron - 13% cheaper in the example I gave.13% is a lot of money to save when buying bulk.
They are quite renowned for refusing account applications if you don't meet the following criteria:You won't, partially because they don't sell half of your list
But no, as a consumer they won't deal with you. They're quite renowned for closing accounts that don't meet the monthly order requirements, and that leaves you in a pickle if anything is ever returned under warranty and credited.

well everyone had at least since monday to make the adjustments and preventatives. at the very least friday.Alternatives eat into margins, and the overall effect would be dependent on turnover. On a pivotal operation like Rectron and its busier downstream retailers, it would be quite significant.
arent they all. They are quite renowned for refusing account applications if you don't meet the following criteria:
* Monthly volumes of X ZAR
* Company Founding Statement and Registered Business Activity at CIPC does not say COMPUTERS/IT/COMPUTER DEALER, etc
* If they even suspect you registered a company to get access to their products but you still work the day job and earning money on the side at night by selling computers. They busted me for this years ago.
All five branches, yes.Does this affect both Cape Town and Joburg?

Damn. In that case I might as well wait and buy them all as a single order plus more in S.Korea when I visit in Sep.
15% customs VAT and 20% duty on the first R25k is not so bad on it when I return, and luckily they are small items and not cases/monitors etc. Still a hassle though to carry so much luggage back and making sure none of it breaks etc. Warranty would be my only issue but I can send them back easily with the monthly export.
If I owned a large Wholesale B2B unit, I would form a Hardware cartel with the other Wholesalers, and large retailers like Wootware/Progenix to kick Evetsek and all other small retailers out of the market, then we'd agree on set prices for each component between us with a slight rotating margin at random, and get more profits ~ equally between us on items sold. That rotating margin can be used to prove no collusion etc.
Much like what SK Hynix/ Samsung/ Micron are doing from the last decade.
Is your beloved supplier trading today?good luck with warranty issues
superflower is done by wootware anyway they bring them in.
btw your reasononing ....below wont work. like at all.
ahhaha beloved no i have my favs but no.Is your beloved supplier trading today?
Unfortunately I can see customs having a field day with you. Those quantities you're wanting look like something purchased for resale, not personal belongings. Additionally, it greatly exceeds the value limit you're allowed to import before they ask for your importer registration. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want the admin penalties, storage fees, and possibly even forfeiture.Damn. In that case I might as well wait and buy them all as a single order plus more in S.Korea when I visit in Sep.
