She is not punting it either. She told me about it...said she enjoyed it. I then said I would like to go with her next time she goes.

Anywhoooo...I am going and thats that. I will report back here afterwards and tell you guys what I thought about it. I consider myself to be a rather open minded person. If I felt it was stupid and a waste of money I will say so...if I found it enjoyable and thought it was worth the money...then I will say so.
 
I went to see some prick at the insistence of my mother (who now realises that it is a scam). He sits you down on a chair, asks you a few questions, like when you were born, checks ona computer, and looks at me and said...you were born on a Tuesday. LOL any calendar can work that out, and I'm not sure if he wanted to sound like a mystic by mentioning the day that I was born :rolleyes: Then he takes a photo of me and tells me I have high acidity levels. I must buy A.Vogel alkaline powder. Fukc me, all the crap he wanted me to buy works out to about R500 per month. LOL. I laughed and left and didn't spend any money on A Vogel's crap.
 
Those are the same sort of pricks who put you through the e-meter scam...

I am currently on blood pressure medicine (mine is about 130/40) called Prexum Plus. I told him this afterwards, and he said he could recommend (because they cannot prescribe LOL) me some pills and things I can take, and eventually I would be able to not take Prexum anymore. Now my bloodpressure is pretty much borderline (he did not know how much it was), so every now and then I forget to take my pill in the mornings. It makes no difference to how I feel with regards to headaches, etc etc.

The problem is that some people are on these types of medication because of a dangerously high blood pressure, and imagine they get conned by these scamsters to leave their medicine and drink the sugar pills :erm:
 
That is precisely why being vocal about these scams is important. These are the most dangerous sort of conmen, not only because they put people's lives at risk, but because they often believe their own bullschit...

And you don't have to come back with a report on how scientifically correct it was, just keep it to yourself unless you feel you want to share. The "Scientific Method" that DJ... refers to so often as if it is universal law is just a theory that is a few hundred years old.

Chinese medicine dates back to 5000+ years. And if the population of China is anything to go by, the poor bastards deprived of western medicine and all that. You know what I mean...

Excellent point: rhino horn is an excellent aphrodisiac and many people are absolutely certain it has benefits. Try it, can't hurt. If it works, it works and if it doesn't, so what.

It perpetuates the existence of such conmen and their beliefs. It perpetuates superstitious delusions no different to the delusion that rhino horn increases virility. You cannot defend one without defending the other.

Just as pretentious to rather save the rhino than the people? If only same effort was given to crime and corruption, but which one gives me achievement or glory... I wonder...

Let me guess, you read that bit of profundity in someone's post a few days ago on the matter of more resources being allocated to rhino poaching than our immediate societal problems, liked it, and felt that you could somehow abstractly squeeze it into this discussion?

But whatever, I guess this discussion wasn't headed into productive ground anyway.
 
I took the time to read from the start and I'm a bit perturbed that this innocent little thread has ended up the same as a long list before it. What do I mean by that? Well, there is a group of people who are so far up their arses about their way being the ONLY way regarding ANY type of belief in anything that after they enter a thread, the thread becomes a mess of their arrogant opinion running roughshod over anyone elses. It's different in a hot debate topic (although even then it just becomes shout and put people down instead of debate). But this doing it in any and every thread is becoming a bit much. If it makes you want to laugh at people for being silly, leave it alone, why purposefully come in somewhere where you know you just want to cause? I don't even :wtf:


My 2 cents ..... couldn't give a shyte whether you like it or not.

People who are emphatically and demonstrably wrong about stuff should be told & shown they are. There are a vast number of things where, yes, there is an only right way of looking at things. Deal with it.

No, the idiotic viewpoint is to want to legitimise utter codswallop.

There are certainly many, many things where there remains room for divergent opinions. But ^this horse manure^? This doesn't qualify.
