Refried beans

Why is everyone hiding and running away? You need to learn to stand your ground!

It's in the name isn't it?

Someone fries the beans. Then puts it in a can for you to ...er.... RE fry it.

Anyway, I'd stay away from beans unless you sprout them first before eating them

That's not at all what it is.

The refried bit is a misnomer - they are not necessarily fried, and they're not necessarily cooked twice. They really are just mashed up beans...

Another mislabeling of food products... ugh

I went to both Woolworths and PnP and neither of them had it. Pathetic.

In fact, they only had baked beans, chickpeas, an italian type bean, and red kidney beans.

Step 1: drain and wash canned beans thoroughly (bean of your choice - red kidney is fine, butter bean is fine, pinto beans are fine)
Step 2: boil in stock of choice until soft
Step 3: drain and mash
Step 4 (optional): fry bean paste
Step 5: season with salt, chilli powder and cumin
Step 6: finally realise that Woolies isn't the bastion of food

Really, it takes less than 5 minutes...
