Relationship Advice?!?!?!?

What's this obsession with someone not picking up there phone on the weekend?

You'll have a very hard time getting hold of me on a Saturday night as my phone is more than likely on the charger in the bedroom while I'm watching movies or playing games or sleeping even.

Doesn't mean I'm gangbanging. Just means I don't care.

Agreed, think it's when you reach a certain age. You stop giving a fark. My wife is the same, struggle to get hold of her all the time, don't think anything of it. /waits for wife is banging the neighborhood comments.

I've actually switched off my whatsapp notifications - not even a beep. Respond to them when I see them. If it is serious - call.

I did this and they showed up at my door.

Yup. Simple case of my time vs your time.

I have all group notification on mute and individual stuff is still on but it doesn't show up on my lock screen.

My wife knows to iMessage me if she needs me to see something.

22:00 Do Not Disturb automatically goes on and 07:00 it goes off again. Only a select few people can call me during that time and even then they need to ring repeatedly so it better be properly urgent.

And when I say I just don't care I specifically refer to my phone. Not the person.

What is this modern societal norm of having to be available to everyone 24/7/365.

**** that.

My phone is on silent almost all the time for this reason, but heck, even I pull out my phone once in a while to check if there's anything important. If I don't want to be disturbed then yes, it goes face down on my bed and is left there until I'm done doing whatever it is I'm busy with.

I have huge insecurity and jealousy issues.

As someone else pointed out, this is kryptonite when it comes to most women who aren't super insecure themselves.

It may sound lame but I read a lot of self-help stuff, and am also quite into some Buddhist philosophies that involve letting go of attachment and that sort of thing. I'm still human and have moments of weakness, but it does help. There's a guy on Youtube called Coach Corey Wayne who offers relationship/life advice on Youtube who I think offers pretty solid advice. I suggest you start there, and also check out guys like Eckhart Tolle for tips on handling your emotional state.

That's one awesome feature of the Lumia series of phones.

Face down = silent.
