It was a joke but no surprise you took it seriously. Well done for playing the women can't have an opinion card. So, let me guess you're never wrong? If a man disagrees with you it's because he's a sexist?

She admitted she was generalising due to personal experience. She admitted that this was wrong.
I can't stand husky dogs due to personal experiences. I admit I generalise when I say I feel huskies are whiney and overexcitable, and it is not true. However, I know most huskies are great dogs with the right owners and with proper training.

Not really. If you strain your brain a bit you might remember that me and Nick have often been at odds regarding issues of feminism in the past. It takes a bit of effort to get me to call someone a feminazi. You might recall I even supported you in a thread once where you and Nick were having a spat about the validity of feminism in the 21st century (although I might be mistaking you for someone else in this case).

Re your point about personal experience influencing your prejudices; that doesn't exactly excuse it or make it any more acceptable. If I say personal experience has led me to think all Jews are greedy bastards even though I know this is not true, I'm still being a massive bunghole. What is even the point of having a prejudice when you know you're wrong?

But Zewp, to me it seems every thought that goes through your head is posted willy-nilly , even if prejudicial. That's why you get so worked up on occasion.
Anyway, i might not like huskies, but I do like men, even if they are all lying barstewards. :p
 
No, don't misinterpret what I said. I asked why even hold a prejudice if you know it's wrong? It's irrelevant whether you tell people or not.

Depends on what you classify feminazi. I'm all for equal rights for all, but I don't agree with feminism that demands women be treated preferentially or specially in the name of 'equality'. Or feminism that wants to lay all of the world's problems at the feet of men or wants to paint men as monsters who just need to roll over and apologize for existing.

If you haven't already watch the Norwegian series Brainwash. It's a very balanced investigation of the equality myth. The religious belief that their are no genetic differences (even between genders) that could possible make one person better at something than another is the basis for all SJ issues. If you believe that women are as genetically able to excel in any field dominated by men you are forced to believe that their is a conspiracy against them when they don't. You also have to attack the culture that supposedly favors men in these fields. Unfortunately almost all forms of feminism work on this premise.
 
Just shut this thread down already. It went from relationship help to relationship hurt.
 
I’ve debated and debated with myself whether there’s any more point to contributing to this thread and I’ve concluded that there isn’t. I’m walking away, because we’re at an impasse. I cannot continue to interact with people who think it’s somehow ok to attack and blame women for -get this- ALLOWING themselves to be abused because they’re crazy and insecure. The message has sickened me to my stomach. Sadly it’s the reality in this country.

One thing I do know. I'm not the one who has repeatedly demonstrated an inability to tolerate the opinions of others here. Women like bokdrol (listen my dear, don’t waste your breath any further) who expressed differing views to the men here were promptly labelled misandrists and told to go away. Foxhound who disagreed with the views here was asked what he had against men. Heck he was near as dammit called a misandrist, simply because he disagreed with the views expressed here.

I can almost guess down to a T what the responses to my post will be. Go on. I know you can’t help yourselves.
