[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

Thanks for the kodi add-on.

Please how do I generate epg for local channels (NG) that are not in ZA premium package and have them properly categorized on live TV (they are currently grouped as "none").

so is there an issue?
what doe "lag" mean?
is it in the add-on menu or Kodi TV list?
Is it while watching a channel and browsing through channels?

@quicany2345
Where are the local channels coming from?
Oh, the Free DSTV channels?
Didn't know the premium didn't include all of them.
I'll update the epg to get them as well :)

@js9241698 no issues my side, did not experience any of the lag, nor any issues with missing channel info except for channels like 430 (Rai Italia), but these are foreign channels and the dstv website does not seem to have info either.

so is there an issue? Not anymore
what doe "lag" mean? When you press up/down to go to the next channel there is a delay
is it in the add-on menu or Kodi TV list? On TV list (DSTV guide)
Is it while watching a channel and browsing through channels? Just going thru channels
<>

Now that the channel info is displaying correctly, there is no more lag. ALL IS FINE AGAIN
Im really not sure why some of us had problems with lag and channel info missing from about 50% of the channels.
For now all is back to normal ... no need to stress any further :p

I can confirm EPG is correct.

Kodi still crashing if I'm watching a channel and switch to another.
If I stop channel then chose another it's fine .

Not a train smash though

Crashing most likely an issue with kodi or IPTV simple client. Out of my hands unfortunately
I see the same on Windows sometimes, but not on other platforms

OK, I see they have heaps of regions etc.
I can't possibly pre-scrape them all, so i'll update the add-on to have a setting for scraping itself.
By default this will be off, but also will be forced for logins that are not ZA.
If your ZA, it will pull the prescraped files unless scrape itself is enabled.

0.13.4 just pushed.
This version will check that country has a cached epg online.
If not, it will then generate it's own locally (like it did for a few weeks recently)
This is slower and less reliable - but at least you get the correct EPG for your country
You can change EPG Days in add-on settings > EPG & PVR > Epg Days

disable vpn / smart dns. Then go into add-on settings and set a South African IP address in X-Forward address setting.

I've never used Kodi, so I don't have a clue how to sort this out...
Install kodi then follow this procedure to install dstv now kodi addon:

Once it is installed open the addon and go to settings and under general you will see 0.0.0.0, change it to a SA ip e.g. 196.25.1.1

@js9241698 do you perhaps know how long the login token that is saved to the settings file in dstv addon should stay valid for? Or is there no hard and fast rule?

I have setup my account for my parents and it seems they getting the "cant parse token bla bla" message more often these days and then I have to remotely connect to their box to logout and back in for them.

it should refresh when it detects it's expired.

oh, there is a bug actually that it's not getting the expire token time..
So I think everyone may be having the same issue...
Thanks for letting me know

Fix incoming
