Not going to Google after reading the last few posts, but does the if there still is one, Netflix add-on work similarly to the DStv one?

Last time I checked the login procedure was a schlep though, as netflix has tightened security. So often you need to run additional software to be able to login (all explained on the github page)

Chances are this would have made it possible to watch DSTV streaming on it, after entering your account details as required. Yes provided the device has minimum widevine L3 support. Some cheap chinese boxes don't.

Can this epg also be used on the smarters pro app? Tried it out but doesn't seem to work

What channel list are you using on the smarters pro app? Remember this is just EPG nothing more.

What would be great is if one would be able to eventually run these streams via a IPTV PVR service such as TVHeadend, or NextPVR.

If you subscribe to one of the IPTV services (mostly dodgy and mostly illegal), you can use Stalker addon for Kodi

Been there, done that cancelled went back to the real deal from Multichoice. Quality wasn't worth the low cost. Buffering was a severe issue.

I have yet to find a good IPTV provider carrying dstv channels. I have a very stable provider for UK and US channels that I currently use in conjunction with my dstv subscription.

If I have a stable UK, Canada and NZ channels service, DSTV has nothing to offer me.

Mostly true, depends on the individual but some people still like local content channels provided by dstv, e.g. kyknet etc etc

That is true I suppose, tho I do not understand the why for of that. But as my Gran once said to me, it takes all types to make the world go round.

Simple really, if you are Afrikaans speaking you would enjoy kyknet for instance.
Same reason people subscribe to Showmax as Netflix does not have enough local content.

True, just that I see no value, whatsoever in that content, but if it floats their boat, may they enjoy, and keep the volume down to civil levels, and I am happy.
