Ive always used Realvnc for my own camera remote desktop between home and work. Which works 100%. But now I need to do another one for a guy, the remote desktop part works 100% except for the fact that the CCTV cameras does not display over the apps. Ive tried Realvnc which just blanks out the camera screens. Ultravnc blanks out the camera on both pc simultaneously. Today I tried Teamviewer which also blanks out the cameras. Its an oldish pc used only for CCTV purposes running Xp. Ive updated the graphics drivers today but to no avail. Its an Intel graphics card (presumes its onboard). Tomorow Im gonna try see if I cant get another gfx card and pop it in there. The CCTV program name I forgot now though. Also I did change all gfx settings to max and not to use the mirror drivers etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Wait. What software is the CCTV PC running? What software is it? Did the software come with th PCI CCTV card? If so its very likely it has the ability to display over the net using the same client.

Let me know if I can help.

I do not know that exact details here, but as far as i know certain CCTV software uses Direct3D to display the cameras on the monitor...RDP ain't going to work here. Someone else on the forum might know more details...

I will get the software name tomorrow. I keep on forgetting the stupid name. Its actually an existing solution, and the guy probably threw the cds all out years ago.

Try splashtop.

Also in the dvr program general settings try disable overlay if it is enabled and an option.

Thnx. will check out splashtop. Do u guys think the gfx card could be a problem?

Gfx card not the problem. Its trying to view the live feed over RDP. Bound to fail/not work lekkerish.

Ja, also make sure that the remote software you using isn't trying to change the screen resolution of the computer it is logging onto. Most of these surveillance programs don't like changes to screen resolution while they running.

Teamviewer and Splashtop should allow the host computer to run in its native resolution...

program name is IVMS-4000. It has remote desktop built in, but i cant get that to work. Also splashtop does exactly the same as other apps. meaning a black screen.

ok thnx for the link, will check it aftr christmas. Thnx for the input so far everybody.
