Remote Desktop Help Please

Start > RUN > services.msc. Look for terminal services. Try disable kaspersky firewall?

I think that the errors from the Windows event log would be more indicative (type eventvwr.msc from the Run console in the start menu). Post anything unusual that you notice in the Application and System logs at the time that you attempt to establish a remote connection.

In the meantime check check if remote connections are enabled in the registry. Open the registry editor (type regedit from the Run console) on the machine that you're trying to remote into and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server. On the right, double-click onfDenyTSConnection (REG_DWORD). Change the value data from 1 (Remote Desktop disabled) to 0 (Remote Desktop enabled). Restart the Terminal Services service (type services.msc from the Run console in the start menu).

Perhaps its time to post your eventlogs as SC recommended.... Both client and remote.

Things to check when trying to use MSTSC -

- Port forwarded to 3389 on relevant IP or across range, on router.
- Firewall is off or exceptions are applied.
- On client computer RDP is enabled and is set to allow all connections.
- Ensure TS are running and automatic.

If all of the above is A OK, than please as Conradl and SC recommend lets see those eventlogs.

Or dude just email me...

How do i forward the port on the router? It's a ZTE ZXDSL831II And what's your email address?

Matrixkid, explain something to me..

Are you indeed trying to access this router over the internet from say home to office?
If this is the case, you need a dynamic dns service to get from the internet to your router, then you need your router to forward all port 3389 requests to your machine destined to be connected to.

www.portforward.com
Specifically for the ZXDSL831v2
