Remote software alternative - Teamviewer commercial use suspected

I decided to just use Microsoft RDP instead.
Their RDP app on mobile works great and even better on PC.

Created a free dyn dns host on noio.com, installed the update client, forwarded the port on my router and now just RDP using my hostname.
You are a lot braver than I am. RDP exposed to the internet is not something I would ever consider doing.

Unfortunately nothing compares to TeamViewer, especially if you are using it for business support. Just buy it and get it done with, you will save yourself many hours of frustration.

O.O

From my experience Microsoft Remote Desktop is the least secure solution when it comes to remote admin. Most of the breaches I have seen was done via RDP or its protocols, even worse when there is a hole punched through the firewall to allow remote admin offsite.

My limited experience might lead to my bias but after helping 12+ companies after RDP based compromises I turn that crap off/uninstall from any server I touch.

Also turn off "generated" password and use Whitelists

Right...
OP: Ignore my silly suggestion

I have RDP open to one machine which is used only for hosting my media.
No sensitive info, passwords stored or even other computers on the network that could potentially be accessed so I'm not too concerned about getting hacked.

How would one provide support from remote site on production server if RDP not an option?

So anydesk isn't a legitimate professional alternative?

Agree with you for the most part. Anydesk comes a very close 2nd though. And I mean VERY CLOSE!!

I have no problem paying for software but TeamViewer is insane with their pricing. As good as it it I just can't justify R700+ a month.

I didnt say RDP wasnt an option, I said RDP exposed to the internet is not an option.
I supported 100+ windows servers over RDP, they were only accessible from the internal networks or via VPN though.

This is pretty crazy to read as I just filled in my teamviewer support ticket last week! Thought I was probly the only one getting flagged. Truth be told I honestly don't see my usage as commercial tho and invited them to check my logs as they see fit. Gmail is blocked where I work so I used to use it to log into my home pc and check my emails, and then sometimes to help out a brother that can't install office properly or other random stuff.

No news on my tickets tho so I guess this isn't something that's a priority for them. I'll be checking out Anydesk myself then. Thanks for the suggestion

I hardly ever use TV and still got nailed for commercial use (even though it wasnt)

So yeah, I've often contemplated getting the paid version but it starts at like 20 euro!! WTF man? It's certainly the best but by far the most expensive too!!
Really? It's useful as **** and you're quibbling over 20 euros? Is that just a once-off cost?
