Remote support software

Can anyone recommend some decent remote access / control software to provide support to parents' PC in the UK? Both sides (mine and theirs) on Win XP, both on sort-of broadband. Something that requires them to accept a connection is essential (don't want anyone else taking over the machines).

I haven't really looked at this before - what are the options?

UltraVNC is pretty good.
I use that.

AFAIK most of the VNC flavours just require a password, not an approval of an incomming connection.

Haven't personally use LogMeIn, but heard good things bout it.

Otherwise, you can always try XP's built in Remote Assistance

I've used LogMeIn recently, the great thing about it is that it can be installed as a Firefox extension

Remote assistance is far too burdensome for me... A quick VNC install and you're set for the rest of the machine's life

Most VNC programs can be setup to require the user on the other end to accept the connection. I would highly suggest you use any remote support over a SSL connection though
