In todays global market most cars interchangeable parts due to parent co owners and to get economies of scale.

I think you've got the metaphor the wrong way around. A more accurate metaphor would be Tata taking a Landrover, adding a bit of chrome and selling it as a Tata in some third world country.
But I doubt they'd do that, because their reliability statistics would suffer.

It is even worse. A lot of the parts in todays cars comes from Bosch e.g. fuel injection, ABS modules etc. Why reinvent the wheel (pun intended) when there are companies that specialises in it. Just buy it instead of developing it inhouse. (Note, sometimes car manufacturers do partner with Bosch to develop an unique solution).
That is why I have given up on car brands. We all drive the same cars

But you own a car that may share same tech than a BMW
(In effect, we are ALL BMW drivers). Interesting to note. Bosal makes exhausts for most of car manufacturers. Years ago, on a factory visit, I heard this story. BMW and Merc didn't want Bosal to make their exhausts, so the owner decided that no manager is allowed to drive BMWs or Merc's. (Should I mention the owner is Dutch).

Look, it is all true but in some cases there are differences that people are willing to pay for

I highly doubt that. Off the top of my head, BMW is rear wheel drive. A lot of different tech there than front wheel drive vehicles. Its steering technology is different too.

So what you actually mean is that we all drive Bosch?
Of course, the fuel injection system has got nothing to do with my choice of car, unless it's going to cause a problem while I own it. And in the event of it giving problems while I own it, I'd still far rather have a badge on the bonnet which has enough competent dealers and a well run spares inventory, so that I can get it fixed and carry on with my life, which is why I won't buy a Dacia with a Renault badge on it. Hell, I won't even buy a Renault with a Renault badge on it.

You are SO lucky that I left for home at 5!!
And that is exactly the thing. A car isn't just a sum of the parts, but how the parts are integrated/configured, the look and feel, assembly quality, aftersales and services. But again, ignore the badge and you will learn that most vehicles are very close or on par. And that is why you will see that car ads use to be 'specs' orientated, now it focus upon the 'experience'.
