Renovations project manager fee?

I am doing a building renovation that will take around 2-3 months.
I would like to employ someone to be the project manager for the renovations. They will come once or twice a day to check up on things, make sure the job is going as planned etc.

I have been quoted by someone at R1600 per day to do this - R35 000 per month. Is this the going rate? If not, what should I be paying?

At R1600 per day the fscker better be on site the whole day not just once or twice a day

In all honesty though for a 2 or 3 month renovation you shouldn't need a pm for it... As long as you have plans and cab visit the site once a day yourself you'll be fine.

I used to do project managment and depending on the cost of the project I used to charge between 15% and 20% of total project value.
