I have a 310 Garmin Nuvi which dropped onto my parking brake cracking the screen

now it doesn't work. I took it into anvic who wanted R2000 to fix it, since it cost just R2000 at Makro I said no. Does anyone know who can repair this, it has bluetooth and new garmins with bluetooth are expensive.
Sometimes life just sucks (and finding out that your own klutzishness is the cause really is insult after injury) ..fortunately the drops to which I've subjected my nüvi haven't ended up with this result; so far, so good for me!
But you can't blame Avnic for this, as much as they really, really bend over backwards for customers (definition: anyone who walks in with a device that's got the Garmin name on it, more below), a line has to be drawn somewhere and today, hombré, just ain't yours.
My experiences with Avnic include going there in blind-panic-abject-begging mode after >I< killed my
12XL (see how I take personal responsibility there?)

from having been a doofus (bouncing a sensitive electronic device off a windowsill from the roof is less than smart) and hoping for the impossible ..which turned out to be the case so they offered me a
GPS 76 for a grand - about half the going rate for what they cost, which I was only too glad to take seeing as I had actually bought the 12XL second-hand and had NO right to expect any kind of support from Avnic.
Since then any time I've taken my- or my pal's wife's nüvi for a firmware or map upgrade (which have included SD card swapouts) they've sorted me out and sent me on my merry way with nary a mention of my spending anything.
Actually, about my only gripe with my nüvi (and I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem but I suspect it is) is that my BLOODY windscreen suction-cup keeps coming off in our killer summer heat ..and are so used to this happening that their receptionist has a Big Box o' NEW Suction-Cup Arms(tm) sitting under her desk to give to anyone who walks in looking for one.
So, it's not Avnic stiffing you; it's you having a crap day. But, if you PM me a way to contact you, I can see about a backchannel enquiry there to see if there's anything that can be done for you.
