Hi all. Thought I should share my Vodacom repair experience. Well I say it like the repair is completed but I am still waiting for it. Hopefully this will draw some attention to this dreadful experience.
I dropped my Z flip 4 off at my local vodacom shop (Vodacom ballito at the ballito junction) on the 21/01/23. The reason for the drop off was because of a click in the hinge and they wanted to warranty it for me (maybe my fault for getting a folding phone but with a trade in it was the same price as a galaxy A53 so I though why not). I thought great, let's just get it sorted then. I was given a time estimate of 7-10 calendar days which was fine. I wasn't offered a loner device but I didn't mind to much because I had luckily kept one of my old phones which is painfully slow but I could live with it for a week. Well here I am in the 4th week of not having my phone. Oh I didn't know the pain that was in store for me back then.
I went back to the store 10 days after I had dropped it to see if they had any updates. This was the first sign of trouble. No one there was able to assist me, let alone give me an update on my phone. Anyway I lived my life for the next week before heading back there the week after. Yet again I was given no assistance nor an update on my phone. I also had no job number so I had no way of tracking it with other means. Only a sequence number which is the same for all Vodacom repairs from that shop. It should also be noted that the stores phone number doesn't work for the Ballito store so the only way to get to them is often up to a 20 minute drive which is a big waste of my time. By now it had been three weeks and I was getting frustrated, I was still without update or even an estimated completed date. I headed back again and all the person there gave me was a number for Vodacom umchlanga. I managed to get through to it after about a half day of trying and they told me it would be here this week monday and gave me the job number. This week monday has come and gone and I am still without an update. I've called the number again that worked for me last time and now no one answers any more. I have tried on multiple days incase of load shedding but to no avail. I then tried the vodacom repairs number which just tells me due to emergency protocols that there is no one able to assist. The only number that works is the SALES number and they are absolutely unable to help. I have emailed vodacom now and was told I would receive a reply within 24 hours, it has now been 48 hours.
There is no way to get in contact with vodacom, my local store is useless, vodacom doesn't answer there phone and emails are ignored.
TO VODACOM:
You are perfectly happy to sell me an expensive contract yet you treat me like someone who doesn't exist once you are making your money. You have my phone that I am paying for. I am spending my hard earned money on it. You need to sort it out and quickly. This is a pathetic, and dreadful experience. You have lost a customer for life. I will never make use of your services again. You need to get me my phone back.
Josh.
