replace macbook pro battery

Hey guys, I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014).

The battery is only lasting about 1 hour. Looking to get it replaced, have any of you had this done? Who was trustworthy & the most cost-effective?
 
It's probably going to cost more than the laptop is currently worth.
 
There is some battery recall on certain older MB Pro models (not sure what models). go check the website, maybe you can get it replaced for free.

Not quite but from my experience an original Apple battery is the only one that works without issues. Probably around R4k incl fitment at Core.

I'm not sure if any independent Apple guys can supply an original battery, anyone know, there are some good guys out there.

Wow, guess South African Apple users are better off than places that are officially supported by Apple. Apple charging in some cases the cost almost equivalent to a brand new Macbooks to fix older ones.

If it's a logic board replacement then yes often the cost is close to replacing the whole Macbook but not if it's just a battery replacement.

Unless Apple/Core is upping their game and will now only replace batteries with logic boards, I wouldn't put it past them, shysters

Timeplex Systems, Original battery will cost you R2500
 
Znet computers in Klipfontein Road in Athlone will sell you a compatible battery for under R1500. I’ve bought 5 from them. Replacing is a 20 min job

Apple solution experts do OEM parts and replacements.

How long have they lasted so far after being installed and I'm assuming they don't give any MacOs errors like some aftermarket apple batteries?

I have replaced 5 batteries, all from Znet. Oldest is 3 years and no problem with any
