I can't comment on any of their other product's prices, but I bought a A1342 Macbook 13" Unibody Bottom Cover (brand new with screws and screwdriver) off eBay last year .... SA Spares wants R900 for the same thing?

Thank you guys for the input. How long do these take to get in the country? I once ordered a shirt from the USA, it took nearly 5 weeks to get here.

All Laptop spares in S. A . are extremely expensive not only Mac spares. You will always save money by importing the parts youself.

IIRC, I waited about 3 weeks, but I was in no hurry to get it. Depends obviously on the shipping option you select.

A couple years ago, my keyboard on my 2011 MBP went faulty with a few keys not working. I got told it was the Top Case that needed replacing, and it totalled R2500 with parts and labour. Feeling a bit ripped off now

I replaced a keyboard on my mid 2012 13" Macbook Pro for R1700. The job was completed in 2 hours and the work well done.
I know that imported screens cost about $40, but then one has to add the courier fees, etc, plus the wait. Then it involves completely stripping and assembly. I felt the money I paid was a bargain for the replacement.
Also when ordering online make sure you order the "English" keyboard. The Enter key is an inverted L.

i need to get a new top case the, mac air is working fine its only the "E" key thats not working and a few odd sticky keys.
