Replacing my S23 Ultra

Cute that you believe that :p. Even evidenced enough by the little attempt at trying
Odd that it only had two posts on it? But love to see the Apply Acolyte and Epah pop into recommend an Apple when the OP wanted an Android.
So once again is there a cult mentality? Do you get kickbacks?
I didn't recommend an Android. Get off your high horse.

But that's what he wanted... An Android, so stop coming in everytime you see the word Android.
Go back and frolick in the Apple forum. We know you've made your choice, you're happy. Stop being like a cross-fit vegan trying to spread your religion.

Do really see the need or can justify the need for an "upgrade"?

The S23U is still very powerful h/w with lots of headroom for the future
This. Very little difference. These Ultra phones can easy do 4 years if they are looked after and it's unlikely that anyone (incl the user) would notice.

Unless the battery is fekked, screen is cracked, there is a work scheme or family hand me down thing going.

Even more with the updates apparently going to five years. But we will see how it goes.

Can just downgrade to a sim only contract as well.

will be schlep ..... because when he finally wants to upgrade he has to do lots of stuff to to qualify for that new contract if he downgrades now

actually the Samsung S Series including the ultras and the newer FEs are promised 7 years of updates

So yeah will definitely see how it goes :-)

Disagree on the "schlep" part. I moved to Sim only package (MTN) & get offers all the time to try & punt me to "upgrade" to a phone inclusive contract. I can't see it being any issue at all come next upgrade cycle.

Apple thread is there, on your bicycle...

Starting to think like this.

How do you manage to stay with the trolling - but I’m banned for pointing out an issue with an Apple product?
You shall speak no evil of the Apple, so say the Apple acolytes. Here in Android land, we don't really care. Don't see us hopping into their sub-forum saying hey guys get an Ultra, it smokes the competition... Not in a biased benchmark but in reality.

Yeah keep the S23 Ultra, the change between it and the S25 aren't that massive, it's not like the old days where new hardware was a massive swing.
I kept my P30 Pro up until 2023 and it was fine, my dad is now using it.
