If we had a competent government the 'could have been stopped' would actually mean something. But when they lack competence in almost everything they do, it's a completely moot point.

Unreal that Twati Cele still has a job after this sh%tshow....
what did you honestly expect, the ANC is a bunch of gangsters and criminals that have the Country by the balls.
they reward failure, incompetence and thievery , and Punish whistle-blowers, competence and hard work.

you judge they by "western standards" they arent that, they are people who wouldn't be cleaning the floor anywhere else.
but in South africa, because they have connections and "struggle credentials" they become big shot ministers and politicians.

dont forget who you dealing with.

Could have been stopped? By who exactly?

Panel of deadbeats is more like it

Blows my mind that nobody in government has paid for this. Then again, it is plain amazing that no one has been prosecuted for this. Surely it emboldens the cretins who orchestrated this.

Ivory towers don't have windows that look down, nor does the gravy train.

remember your judging it by the wrong yardstick, these idiots cant even steal properly without being caught,
so you really expected them to throw their own into jail?

you must be smoking nyope to think that.
they probably even got a "promotion" or got to be the Ambassador somewhere tropical like the Bahamas.
or Haiti

A shoot to kill mandate should have been issued from the start... But hey... F00K people's private property/businesses and goods... VIVA useless human rights...

Can't do that... Marikana and all that you know.

Yes, I know, but again... too much bloody human rights... In the old days, this kind of **** would not have been tolerated... Our intelligence depart at SAPS and our SAPS on the ground itself is a joke.

“Claims by the police minister that they had identified twelve instigators who would be brought to book, resulted in disappointment when only a handful of individuals identified based on their incendiary social media accounts were charged for incitement to violence,” the report stated.

According to the report, if there is such intelligence, the President should address any systemic weaknesses that may have caused the information to escape his review.

“If the President has received intelligence about the instigators, the question would be why has he not assured the nation that the government will act on this matter,” the experts said.

“Consequently, to establish trust, the President must inform the public if he is on top of the situation and what they can expect with holding any culprits responsible for the violence and looting.”

“In times of crisis, more than at any other time, the President must lead government in communicating a single, clear message about what is happening, why it is happening and what the government is doing to address the matter.”

I brought this to light in the 'trucks' thread, and was also party to the reason I argued this to not be an insurrection as claimed by the state?

In the case it was an insurrection, it sure was a covert op, since nobody has been brought to task on this particular matter, also way too many twisted tongues… Zapiro had it nicely expressed,

I wouldn't be surprised that the state knows all too well who was behind it all... ;) but now I am going into conspiracy territory. Anyhow, I don't expect answers in 2022, it being a double ANC elective year and all.

The state and the ANC know exactly who was behind it, that for me is pretty much a given... The problem is that the people behind it still have sufficient power that they are technically "untouchable" if the ANC wants to stay intact and in power.

**EDIT**
I mean hell, some of us know who some of the high level instigators were and those people are still strutting around as if they are untouchable

ANC doesn't give a ****. Their voters got free stuff ...

And this "expert" panel is just another money spender to look like someone is doing something, just like the million other panels/indabas etc. when something "went" wrong. And then nothing comes of it.

More talky talky... doing fck--all.
