this is so stupid. Mine says im an unknown quantity, yet somebody with 200 posts says he will be famous soon.

You'd have to rep the clone quite a few times before it gets non-zero rep power. Until then its reps have 0 value i.e. you can rep yourself but the number of reputation points you have will stay the same. You'd also have to rep others (ten others) with the clone before you can rep yourself again. I guess the most efficient way would be to keep a stable of 10+ clones all repping each other and yourself.
What a waste of time though.

Dunno why you folks bother making the rep system anonymous. Anyone with a bit of know-how can easily go dig through the source code and figure out who gave you rep. VB is lame like that.

Doesn't show who gave it on mine, though. Shows who I gave rep to but not the other way around.

Now I get it! The reputation system is for whiney mods to wag their fingers disapprovingly at us regular plebs, when they can't give us an infraction 'cause we've done nothing wrong.
Too bad for them that nobody pays any attention to the worthless reputation system.
Edit: As far as the poll's concerned, if the system was a plain "thumbs up/thumbs down" system on a per post basis, then great. The current one's a joke.
