Dear Axxess,

I am a happy customer of many months now on the Uncapped-Express account. While I don't come near the top data users, the option is still viable to me as I'm saving more money than I would by paying per gig for my family.

This is not a complaint or celebratory request but a cry for assistance. Other ISP's and service providers complain about "high usage" accounts and even today Neotel try to explain their "uncapped" but with a 35Gig fair usage policy.

I'd like to hear your views, as to why you offer the service and how sustainable has it been for Axxess, as a company, to provide the service. Then hopefully we can tell the others to STFU and give the consumer both what they need and desire and stop trying to cover their greed with legalese.

Many thanks for a great service,

Kosmik.

I think they pretty much off-set complete abuse with the 5GB rolling cap thing. They prob averaged out usage, added that into the equation and deduced it would not push past unacceptable limits - at least for most of the users.

Some months I only push 3GB on my uncapped cause im just too busy to use it. Othertimes 8x that amount. I guess those patterns start to off-set the "high usage" thing.

3GB  Dude borrow me your detials those months

I would love to know what the average usage would be if everyone was just on 384 512 and 1-4mbps uncapped connections. In the begining I think many would rape it then they would probably use only about 10-15 GB pm average.

When is someone going to bring out a more reasonably priced uncapped, I dont care about running at 4mbps after hours. wouldnt even mind if its torrent blocked. Bring me 384 for 400 512 for 550 and 1-4mbps for 800

My point with this post is that they are in a position to prove that uncapped is a viable business prospect and the complaints around "high usage" affecting other customers is rubbish and hence Neotel and others should stop moaning about it and provide for it.

Consumers require it.

Hey, John , where's that spreadsheet? Arrgh, sorry man, I can't access the cloud store because we keep timing out and we're now limited to 128k. I'll send a pidgeon quickly.

You need to address the question to IS, Axxess just resells this IS product with a small markup. It is IS who runs the account, manages throttling, applies shaping, etc, and takes all the incumbent risks and rewards on board.

My guess is that this is a very efficient way for IS to fill unused off-peak capacity. IS don't pay per-gig, they pay a fixed price for a fixed bandwidth capacity each month. It makes no sense for them to have that capacity lying idle. Every express account sold is cash that goes straight to their bottom line.
