Retarded speed limit in complex...

Which circles are you talking about? The normal sized ones or the roundabouts?

EDIT: How do you think a mini-circle works?

I'm taling about the mini-circles in the residential areas, the ones all have yield signs.

My colleague was telling me you must treat the mini-circle like a stop street, hence you must always stop. That's when I said but then why not just use stop streets if you must stop, to which he said "Because you only have to stop if other cars are coming to the circle", which pretty much means yield signs which is what a mini-circle is.

My understanding is :

For traffic circles, I must yield to the cars in the circle coming from the right before I can enter the circle.
For the mini-circles, I must yield to the cars that have already crossed the line to enter the intersection/circle and will cross my direction of travel.

I LOVED house-sitting a place in the Serengeti Lifestyle Estate near Kempton, 60 speed limit in the main routes and 40 amongst houses. That's decent in a place with wide open spaces, IF you're an alert driver.

It's a lovely estate. Unfortunately out of my price range though.

Ah I see, shame, he more or less has the right idea just worded it very poorly, I thought you were one of those mini-circle means yield to the right people and was making fun of how he thought it worked.

That would have been embarrassing

The K53 actually states that you should treat mini circles as 4way stops when other cars are close but then they place a fat dashed line and a triangle on them which both mean yield. Its a big mess if you ask me and mini circles should not exist.

Wow... Enforcing a 10kph rule is insane. If you were really not speeding, don't stress... The body corporate has no legal right to fine you unless the rule has been registered as official. Even then, they have to issue two written warnings, then have a hearing where you are able to dispute and give your version of events, and only THEN can they fine you if reasonably found guilty.

If you were driving dangerously, just slow down and STFU. But from what you have posted, I see no real wrongdoing. Someone in your complex must just be being a D1ck towards you... Every complex has one of those.

Along with all the drivers from Centurion. Spoke to a colleague the other day and he said "Those traffic circles are mini-circles and you must treat them like stop streets." So I asked him then why not just put stop signs instead of the traffic circles, and he said "Because you only have to stop if other cars are coming to the circle". :wtf:

I didn't have the strength to explain to him what yield signs are.

Something tells me you work in Witch Hazel as well...
