Me and another MyBB member (who I do alot of swopping with) are sending a 500GB drive back to Seagate.

The drive was bought in USA so yeah, we can't return it to anyone local.

I've packaged the drive up and will probably send it tomorrow.

Has anyone done this?
How much did it cost? ±
How long did it take to come back etc?

lol!
these 500gb seem to be really problematic. I'm also gotta return 3 x500gb hdd's. (2 different suppliers)
So far i had a 100% failure rate on them within the first 2 months. :(

Cost to usa - no idea
Can't you find the local seagate guys to replace it?

Send it to the old storgate africa guys in linbro park, if it shows on seagates website that it is still under warranty then they will swop it

I've just bought a 500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA :(

I sent a drive to Seagate in Netherlands a few weeks back. They replaced my drive within a day of receiving the broken one (a 500Gb I might add...). It got sent back with DHL to my front door at no cost to me. I had to pay for postage to the Netherlands though. That cost about R200 via airmail.

No they won't... If It was bought outside SA, it has to be sent back to Seagate.

I called them, they said I must send it to Seagate.

I think they are called Absis Africa now or something, I read a thread about this a while back here, that they had changed their name.
