Returning my Takealot order - An awesome experience

Well, the handy man is now on his way to the house to install it (if he is not already there). I am work and my partner is at home. He will call me once handy man is finished to update me. I hope to get home tonight and have a working dishwasher. I had to wash dishes last night.......I WAS NOT HAPPY!!! :mad::mad:

Yes, no retailer can force you to reuse the packaging for returning a broken item. It's only for items that are not faulty.

What's with your partner that he can't install it?
 
I bought a toilet seat on the 2nd of July 2026 and returned it because it had a big crack in it and most of the front piece missing.
on the 4th July I asked for a replacement they delivered it with plastic hinges that didn't even fit but I ordered metal hinges so I asked for my money back. I still haven't received the money back. I saw it can take 7 days for a refund and then it can take up to 10 days to clear in my bank account. It was over R700

Why does Takealot automatically credit you instead of automatically refund you the money into your bank account?
The toilet seat I returned they gave me Takealot credit and haven't refunded me. I have only ever returned 1 thing before and they didn't automatically credit me they refunded me.

If you have money with them, you would buy from them again.

They are hoping you'll be lazy and spend it on Takealot, they've been working like that for years now.
You can just request a refund to your bank account though, the option will be there on the credit page somewhere, it’s painless.
 
I'm trying to get a hold of Takealot and is near impossible.

Preordered GTA 6 this morning for collection at my local PnP by me but the order has their Cape Town depot instead. It's a digital code that they say they will email but also mentions box which they can't teleport to me.

Just want to ask if it is correct or not, should i cancel and reorder....but Takealot hides behind their useless bot
 
Go to My Account, Credits & Refunds. You can return the TA credit to the original payment method.

I just spoke to someone at Takealot and they said I had to make a call the money wasn't going to be refunded to me they made it as credit. I don't know why there's no way for me to change it myself.
 
I just got a call from a Robin G at Takealot who managed to cancel the order and submit the refund request. If he hadn't called I would still be trying to fumble around the website.

Whoever you are, thank you Robin. The rest of the Takealot experience was incredibly poor.
