So on Thursday I loaded and activated an MTN prepaid e-sim for my iPad from the MTN website, it seems to have registered successfully but for the life of me I cannot find the bloody cellphone number to use to recharge the account. I have an order number and a massive sim number but fokol else :cautious:

Does anyone else have experience with these useless e-sims? I would have used Afrihost but I need roaming facilities on this device so had to use MTN directly. So far a very shyte experience.

I found the process pretty easy to be honest. The cellphone number only gets allocated when the esim connects to the network like any other physical sim they SMS you the number or if you don't get that you can send a please call me to someone. I can't recall what the ussd code is to see the number.

So as you can see, it's registered.

When attempting to browse it takes me to this page   helpful....

Think iPads don’t have the phone app lol

So it seems to have the "app" but it doesn't dial out and only shows my whatsapp call logs.

Settings > Mobile > Sims.

The number is right there.

If it’s not then it hasn’t been activated properly.

What info can you see on the MTN app? Should be zero rated. I think the MTN momo app too. Maybe one of them could reveal your number if you try to buy airtime with a credit card maybe.

It asks for a number to register after creating the account

Seems that the iPad won't dial USSD codes.

A work around could be get a physical SIM card first, insert it in a phone to get the number then SIM swap to esim.

My problem is the new iPads don’t take physical sims else I’d have got one from a Pakistani corner store

If you have a phone that can use physical SIM, insert the physical SIM in that phone first. You will receive the SMS with the number. Then do a sim swap to esim for that number and use the esim with the iPad.

Then it’s not been provisioned.

No you don’t have a number and hence nothing is working. Are you sure you activated it?

The airmobile esim works fine, but there is no way of seeing the number from setting. I have to go to airmobile app to see that number. The physical Sims in the same phone do show numbers in settings.

I've deleted the e-sim and got a new one, lets see.....

From the support address

Absolutely fücking useless, it seems you cant even talk to a person when dialing 135. You just get put through to different voice recordings by the IVR.

Seems to be a long time issue....

When i registered with the MTN app, I just used my primary number, the system showed me a drop down thereafter that included both my other numbers automatically, perhaps this could work for you?

It's not listing my other number unfortunately.

I'm giving up, going past an MTN store tomorrow. God give me patience.
