Doesn't sound like his death was being condoned, it did sound an awful lot like victim blaming. But the lionisation of him when he has said some pretty awful things in the past is not honest either.Post #146:
MSNBC came the closest to basically saying "yeah it's his fault lmao, what did he expect", but other than that, yeah, I'm mostly just seeing retarded leftoids jumping for joy, not so much the news itself.Doesn't sound like his death was being condoned, it did sound an awful lot like victim blaming. But the lionisation of him when he has said some pretty awful things in the past is not honest either.
I have said it many times before. Being offended is just dependent on what side you on.It may be free speech, but celebrating the murder of anyone or supporting that celebration shows a rather disturbing aspect of an individual. Commenting on the murder factually and respectfully shows maturity and a capacity for empathy.
That's pretty awful.MSNBC came the closest to basically saying "yeah it's his fault lmao, what did he expect".
does it matter? Someone was assassinated in front of a crowd of people. there's no scale if one is worse than the otherHave a question, since you're categorising this as a leftie/rightie dichotomy.....what if Hillary Clinton was shot live on air....what would your genuine initial response be?
I don't know celebrating murder or death of someone you find disagreeable is normal....I'm sure the celebratory mood when Hitler was found dead wasn't showing disturbing traits in the individual. When Bin Laden was killed, a vast majority of the US populace celebrated, that didn't make them psychopaths or devoid of morals.
In your opinion.....not to Kirk's enemies.Lol wtf? Those people were legitimate genocidal maniacs, there is quite a difference.
No scale correct, however levity yes. Rational response depends on objectivity, being outraged at one scenario but not the other is irrational.does it matter? Someone was assassinated in front of a crowd of people. there's no scale if one is worse than the other
In your opinion.....not to Kirk's enemies.
I've spoken to many completely bonkers right wingers over the years and they don't see the difference between Obama and Osama.
The point is you can't demand someone see things your way or expect facts to overule their feelings. Kirk's killer is Hussein's killers, same mindset.
There are glaring differences, that are objective. Saddam ordered the murder of people, directly. Kirk did not.In your opinion.....not to Kirk's enemies.
Both of them are Muslims /sI've spoken to many completely bonkers right wingers over the years and they don't see the difference between Obama and Osama.

You said authoritarian, not me. Why shouldn't there be zero tolerance to violence? Why should they let Lefty judges allow violent criminals back on the streets without bail?So you want a authoritarian response to this.... And when the lefties regain power in the US (and they will).....do you expect them to do the same?
The left has to face a similar situation because they let Obama get away with too much Executive Order power grabs and now want to complain when Trump uses those EO powers.
Do not fall for short term solutions, when it only harms you in the long term.
Are you one of those people who refuse to wait for a funeral cortege to pass because your time is more important than a mark of respect for the dead?
That honesty is a rather disturbing indicator of the norms of our society. Are you accusing me of faking sincerity?
Charlie Kirk cannot be equated to Hitler. You're missing the point. Kirk and his utterances enviked the same feeling to his enemies as Hussein did to his. You just agreed more with Kirk than Saddam.
I disagree that Kirk didn't practice violence, violence comes in all forms, and othering people on a subjective bases is a form of violence, not physical but psychological. In the same way can condemn the radio DJ who dehuminized and incited the mob to kill in the Rwandan genocide as violent even though he "only used words".
We can't absolve people from any action after they died, it does them a disservice.....what we Should be debating is that having disagreeable opinions should not be fatal. That's what this situation calls for.
I disagree that Kirk didn't practice violence, violence comes in all forms, and othering people on a subjective bases is a form of violence.
It didn't happen on Sept 11.interesting this happens on Sept 11.
Honestly, unless you personally knew the guy, the idea of waiting a few hours or days before discussing his views seems a bit odd.
