Once you see it, you see it everywhere. Even the NASA budget is now at an all-time low, scientists fleeing the country for greener pastures etc... one of the best signs of cash shortage and societal focus shifting away from the things that were hard to quantify but ultimately led to the US being the biggest player in the room with economic benefits that go way deeper than simple ROI calculations.

Here's a really satisfying video that popped up on my feed the other day that show the rise and fall of empires over the past few hundred years. The US had a good run, but it won't be surprising if it ends in the next few decades. I'm betting on China taking over completely, not because they don't have problems, but I simply cannot see how having that much industrial power can be challenged in the near future. When service and financial centred economies falter, the guy who stands is going to be one that deals with reality, resources and can build stuff, regardless of how they do it and which ideology they impose or skate on.


I think it's important for the US to sort out their social issues, but it will come at a massive cost.

Mostly accurate, there's zero doubt that the US is well into the decline phase,the numbers don't lie.

China's growth will slow down as a lot of it was driven by internal industrial and infrastructral growth which has now passed the peak phase.

Its utterly amazing how predictable things are when you look at it from both a macro trend and historic point of view. The reason for this is simple yet most are unaware,

It's because while everything else changes and evolves, human nature stays the same. People react to the same things the same ways they always have, hence the predictability of it all.

Yeah. One can completely disagree with someone or even detest them on principles. But when they are brutally murdered for simply having a diffence of viewpoint or opinion, everyone loses. The shooter has certainly lost the moment he pulled the trigger.

ISIS is an ideology looking to create a state, true.....and that ideology is based on the very same ideology the state of Saudi Arabia is based on right?.....now does the Islamic State treat everyone the same or does it discriminate against those that do not follow it's ideology?.....does it oppress dissenting opinions and beliefs?

So why equate the US with Islamic States in the first place?

The past 50 (?) years of US administrations (since abandoning the gold standard), all exported inflation to the rest of the world. They issued those sweet US bonds, and sold their future GDP. But the day of reckoning has slowly arrived in the past 10 years or so, and that wave is unstoppable. Americans are buckling under an unbearable cost-of-living crisis. Long story short, I think what we are seeing is all because of the American wallet hurting. $37 TRILLION of debt, and the USD as the world's reserve currency is starting to wobble. Early stages, but it is undeniable.

TL;DR: Fall of an empire playing out before your eyes. No republican or democrat can save it. The debt is too much.

Historians have also weighed in on this. America is always pulling apart a bit. People from California or NY are very different from people from Kentucky. War tend to pull American's together, and long periods of peace they tend to drift apart and focus on their differences. It takes a scary external threat or war (the cold war counted as an example) to force them to close ranks. 9/11 was the last big event that tied America together again but since then its drifted again. Eventually I think the US may face a new civil war or split based on political ideology but that could also be centuries away. They are in for a major financial reset as you point out. I don't think they will fall apart completely like some previous empires, I suspect they just fade away in relative importance like the Brits did. Others will outgrow them and take over the leadership mantle.

We do have a lot of differences now compared to the equivalent history. Old America did not have social media filled with Kremlin fueled bots driving wedges and antagonism. The left and right have drifted further and further apart of late with some extreme stuff, particularly from the left. Time will tell I guess.

What's missing in this is that an empire's relevance is directly tied to the strength of their military. On this basis they still have a way to go before they fade away. Who is best positioned to exceed their military strength? Keeping in mind that the last time China was tested in battle was over 4 decades ago...

I'm in agreement with you.

That outline on his T shirt from the videos and other angles might just be the cable of a secondary microphone or something similar that's clipped under his T shirt or it could just be that the T shirt is a bit large for him and the way his sitting is producing that outline in the T shirt.

ya and to me Charlie Kirk was an escalation in rhetoric.

The entire goal of his organisation was to activate a conservative youth movement. To pull people away from the neutral position.
Yes, similar things are happening on the left but I don't see any of these things as a solution... its more a problem.
