RIP Dion Wired

I looked at Dions adverts and they were expensive.
Have never bought there.
I looked @ Makro's adverts & they had gotten VERY expensive. VERY.
I looked at Builders warehouse & they were clueless & nine times out of ten.
Also were EXPENSIVE also many, many times I left them not being able to be satisfied.
Now go elsewhere, even tho they are closer.
I THINK it is the staff for Massmart.

They were expensive compared to Makro and Game. Check out black Friday stores weren't even busy compared to the latter. They become too big as a company. Hope they sell it to a buyer who sell products at more competitive prices.

But have you seen how dead the Cornubia branch is? I have a friend who works there, quite high up, and even though the Cornubia branch is bigger and much nicer it does nowhere near the same trading that Springfield does, not really sure why that is because Springfield traffic is a nightmare most times.
I haven't been there yet but looking its location on Google Maps it's pretty desolate there not much around them things would probably start improving there when/if other businesses start opening around them.

Ever since they opened the new offramp has been opened traffic by the Springfield branch hasn't been bad at all.

I still feel there's a gap in the market for a Makro that caters to the Westville/Pinetown/Kloof Market

This is going to get much worse. Besides poor trading, the unions can go and explain to the members getting retrenched, that at least some of the blame lies with Eskom unions for not allowing Eskom to become profitable. Take a walk through some malls while load shedding is on, and see the closed doors ..

Unions will celebrate at having saved 10 thousand jobs at Eskom, while the economy sheds 100 thousand due to poor economic conditions

I suppose I work in Durban north, so it doesn't seem like its out in the sticks for me, like some people have implied. I thought Cornubia was supposed to cater the higher LSM Ballito, Umhlanga and Durban north markets though hence its location... But still those people would rather drive all the way to Springfield instead of Cornubia - it's a shame tho because it's actually a really nice store inside and parking is a breeze, I find the staff to be a tad more helpful too.

I feel far enough from Cornubia Mall that it cannot get their spill over traffic.

Walked past the Canal Walk aka Kanala Walk store now & it's empty af.

Just security & sales staff & potential customers you can count on 1 hand.

This is probably why. I was in there 10 mins or so, and walked the whole store. Not one person even made eye contact. All huddled around a laptop watching YouTube.

It didn't help that their staff was clueless, and their websites are a disaster. The less said about their delivery the better.

Exactly. I never mind paying slightly more at Kloppers purely because of the fantastic customer service...

Do they know they're about to be jobless?

TBH, the one in Springfield is nice and close if you use the M19.
Makro is not the kind of shop you go to regularly so it doesn't need to be very very very close by, just easy to get to when you need to.

Not surprised! Based on the times I've walked in, looked around, been ignored, interrupted staff to ask for something to be told "no", don't know" or "out of stock" I'll not miss them!

Same happened to me in Somerset West. Useless retail staff going to feel the brunch now. :|

Quite opposite when I was in the grove. They Couldn't wait to help me at electric appliances and mouse + keyboards..

They probably are "lets go out with a bang", while I can understand employees at other stores say f'them, why must I even try to do my job that MassMart is getting rid off, let's watch vids.
