RIP Paul Walker

I am sure he was a great guy, he seems to have been well liked.

My post was not a slight at Walker, just an observation about what grabs the attention of the masses of humanity.

We tend to bemoan the state of our world, but very often (for the most part) ignore many of those who are fighting some pretty important battles for us.

Anyhow, I was just waffling.

Not a big fan of his. I really despised the Fast & Furious movies. Liked him in Running Scared. I was not aware of his NPO until today, but just wanted to show that he was maybe not just a pretty face, which is definitely what you implied :)

Anyway, RIP dude...

Forgot to add, sheeple don't really care unless a celebrity dies so yeah...
You know what it's impossible for every person to have an intimate knowledge of everyone who's doing good in this world. A celebrity dies, it makes the news, people send their condolences. I think it's also natural that a person they 'know', in the sense that they've come to know them through the medium of movies and entertainment, probably makes that person seem closer to them than someone they've just read about in passing, regardless of who does the most 'good'.

People do care, but exposure to an individual (even if it is just an actor) increases their liking and awareness of that person.

I was shocked to hear of his death, he was a brilliant actor the mastermind of Fast n Furious. And sadly it wouldnt be the same without him

If he was killed in the middle of shooting the next Fast and Furious what will the producers do? Hire a similar looking actor for the unshot scenes, kill him off or reshoot the scenes with him in it to exclude him or can the movie and cash in on the insurance.

write it into the script

He was a great actor.

He was a legend for me.

He was a good actor.

he was a brilliant actor
REALLY?!?... Are we still talking about the guy from The Fast and the Furious?... the guy that ended every line in the ridiculously named 2 Fast 2 Furious with the word "dawg" like a mentally challenged child doing an impression of a street hood? The man was a terrible actor in a terrible film series. I can't remember a single film he has done that he was any good in.

People like Ian McKellen are great actors. Next to people like that Paul Walker was a pretty boy muppet in a jazzed up car mumbling in a Stallonesque manner to Vin Diesel about how he owed him "ten second car... dawg".

Note that I didn't wish the man harm. I simply ignored The Fast and the Furious films after watching the first 3 (in my defence I had hoped they would get better but even as a teenager they came across as garbage... I also never actually paid to watch one). However it would be nice if at least his death meant the end of that horrid franchise. Unfortunately what little I know of Hollywood says they aren't done milking teenagers of their pocket money with these Fast and the Furious films. Walker likely died in vain (though that isn't strictly true, the cricumstances surrounding his death were ironic enough to make me chuckle).

R.I.P. Paul. I don't blame you for riding the gravy train on this pile of celluloid feces that is The Fast and the Furious. I would do the same thing for a few million dollars. However I cannot bring myself to call you a good actor. A successful one sure, but not a good one. :(

Not the first time ive heard of someone dying when they went for a spin with their friend...I guess the driver got cocky and did a F&F move and lost control.

So start a thread, no one is stopping you.

My comment was related to this thread.

No, not him personally, at all. By pretty faces, I just mean the entertainment/celebrity industry in general.

The good thing about Paul Walker dying is, that I won't have to see him in any movies again.

Freck all the inconsiderate haters! :p

I wish people would be this concerned about stuff like this:

Big fiery crash, except he was someone doing a lot of good in the world. Why are our priorities so skewed towards pretty faces?

not quite sure who this actor was nor do i know of this person you speak ok copa. but what i can say is this, an unknown won't bring in the same amount of attention and money as a celebrity does, and it would seem this celebrity did his bit for charity, more than the unknown you waffling on about. no disrespect meant.
