Roaming not working on prepaid

I'm in Australia at the moment and on a cell C prepaid which I was informed has roaming enabled as a default. I can't get on any local networks - the only one that shows up in the list as not (Forbidden) is YES OPTUS 3G, but itwon't connect to ity. Unfortunately I need to do some banking and pretty much everything is going through Payfast which requires 3Dsecure verification - including adding airtime on the cell C page.
I have sent several emails, online form applications etc to cell C with no response. Anyone have any thoughts as to how to go about solving or who I can speak to? Any way to port my number to a friendlier operator from this side?

I am afraid international roaming is still not available for prepaid users. On other networks yes, but not on Cell C. I remember some MyBB users were required to deposit R5000. Even if it is suppported, activation must take place when user is connected to the home network, as SIM must be reprogrammed. In other words, no-one can help you with activating roaming while you are abroad.

If your phone support WiFi calling, maybe it can activated now, I don't know. It would let you make and receive Cell C calls on your current data connection using Cell C airtime. Would it help you? PM Cell_C rep.

We currently do not offer roaming on prepaid. You can however opt for Wifi calling provided your device supports this.
Please advise what phone you are currently using.
