Actually not at all. In both cases the victim is being blamed as if it's their fault. Murderers are going to murder, but they will choose the targets based on whatever fsked-up logic they use ... same as the rapist
... don't see why the victim should take any of the blame whatsoever

Why were the commandos disbanded? Commandos were basically a force created by the farmers to protect themselves and property or was it a government thing also?

I think the subtext is that the government doesn't really want to have an armed paramilitary walking around. Mind you they wouldn't have as total control over them as the regular army. I think the government has fears these things can easily turn into a rebellion. It's the same reason why it is a bad idea to have even the regular army patrolling the streets on a regular basis, the army is trained for wars and constant conflict.

In most cases there is a very good reason for a rebellion. With the current government there might be such a reason and maybe ... just maybe they know this to be true? Speculation of course.
 
Men arrested for Farm Murder

Three men accused of killing a farmer in Newcastle were arrested on Tuesday morning, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Colonel Vincent Mdunge said the men would appear in the Newcastle Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

They faced charges of murder, housebreaking, theft and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Timothy Green, 44, was shot dead at his farm on Sunday night.
