Rocketnet - feedback?

I hear you but just to be fair on rocketnet that even if I complained yesterday, I have always had good experience with rocketnet since beginning (last year when I switched over to them). Even now. It is just occasional hiccups and probably they have no control over it.
 
I find Rocketnet reply quicker on tickets than on MyBB, I post here just in case others are having the same problem

Just mentioning, not sure if you opened a ticket

Paste a MTR here when you are having problems in peak time for interests sake

Correct but I am not sure how much ISP's can actually do in such situations. Most of the time, it is referred to the fibre provider and it almost appears as if fibre providers are the only ones who are actually "working" to fix stuff.
 
@RocketNet-Rep anything happening in the CT region?

20mbit on fast.com
Cant even start a speedtest.net test
92mbit on rain speed test

8.8.8.8 and opendns 300ms latency

What I don't understand is that you have still not migrated to another ISP, since you only complain here about your speeds etc.... weird. Something tells me you don't have an issue or you just don't know what your issue is?

So, I hear you and I have complained about issues on this thread as well - but my issues seem marginal compared to what you have reported. Do you not get any response on their whatsapp?

Again, Why have you not changed ISPs yet? Going back in this thread, you have been saying the same thing for +/- 2yrs?? This seems like a you problem....
 
Lols.. I also tried to help many moons ago but the continuous passive/aggressive behaviour made me give up.
 
Just wanted to pop in to say thanks for not giving me anything to complain about for a while! Have had a pretty smooth lock-down wrt internet.

Edit: some credit to the guys at Octotel too - they've definitely improved on their end from a year or two ago.
 
4 weeks till MFN goes live here, pretty excited to give rocketnet a shot

Anyone had any issues having a plex server at home?

Assuming you want to access it remotely then just having sufficient upstream bandwidth is what you want, with most fibre packages that isn't really a problem unless you plan on sharing with a bunch of friends and family or want to direct play high bitrate video.

5Mbit up would be sufficient for a single remote user to have a decent experience, assuming you aren't taxing the connection with other things. 20Mbit+ up would give you some more flexibility though.

I'm more worried about getting flagged for hosting a "server"?
However I'm guessing that only becomes a problem if i'm pushing huge amounts of data :D

Normally the transcoding is more of an issue than bandwidth
 
Just make sure your CPU supports Intel Quick Sync Video mostly.
 
Yeah i've been getting into the whole home labs/networking thing the past while.
I've been waiting for fibre for 5 years now ( whole estate had firbe except my block ). So that gave me a lot of time to prepare for the moment when everything goes live.
I picked up a RB3011 a few months ago,
8Tb Plex Cache/Server
CAT6 Everywhere
Been playing around with kibana/elastiflow to no success :D

Very very ready to give LTE the boot.

edit:
-Almost forgot to mention the most integral part of my network ;), Pi-hole is also running via quad 9

Anyone else's international speed very bad at the moment? Struggling to get 10Mbps on 100Mb line
