Roku 3 tips and discussions.

^^
that's the one I have as well. No problems whatsoever with Netflix.

Yeah router installed and Netflix up and running. Had a few problems when setting up the static route with regards to "Interface: pppoe_8_35_0_d" set as default but once I changed it to LAN it worked first time. Can no longer ping 8.8.8.8 ect.

Ok just noticed the roku3 broadcasts its wifi direct for the remote on the same channel as my wifi and I'm not digging the behaviour as there is bound to be interference. Has anyone found a way around this besides using an ethernet cable?

Bleh... My roku 3 is using the wired connection, but the wifi direct is interfering with my tp-link access point... damn phone keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.

The roku keeps following the AP channel despite it being on the wired connection
That is seriously odd.
I have 5 Roku's dotted around the house and 3 access points - as well as PX5's on 2.4Ghz and PX4's on 5Ghz. I suffered interference until I played with the channels. All is good now. Also wired on the Roku's.

Just wish I could hide the Roku's SSID.

I have been reading the forums and somebody said to disable the wireless and make sure you don't touch it again or it will start the channel following nonsense. I'm going to power it down at the wall and try again. Yeah the wifi direct ssid for the remote is annoying, and the signal is strong!

So finally got adsl and am almost ready to kick monochoice in the nuts. I obviously have the standard Netflix ,Iplayer etc and also recently added the Filmon app (perfect for my live broadcast needs). So i wanted to find out if there are any other Filmon like apps with good live broadcasts hidden somewhere. And also any other interesting hidden private channels. Monochoice gots to go

Guys, is it possible to get iPlayer without using a UK DNS?

I think what I'm really asking is whether its posible to route only iPlayer requests to a UK DNS while still being able to whatch the the US Netflix.

I'm fairly certain it should be possible to add a static route in the router's config. I think I'll mess around with it when I get home

I am watching US Netflix on my UK roku account. Netflix regions are determined by your dynamo settings independent of any other settings. Iplayer works at the same time

How will I be able to watch sport events live? That's the only reason I have dstv.

Are you saying iplayer gets its region from Roku and not using dns?

Not as such. Unotelly still plays its part i'm using the jhb and cpt servers (any dynamo enabled will work) but then in your uno account settings thats where you set your netflix region. Iplayer is just automatically unblocked

So after a day playing with the Roku, I have moved back to the Apple TV, there is something about the Roku that annoys me. Anyone want to buy it from me?
