Romantic relationships with work colleagues

Has anyone here tried to pursue a romantic relationship with someone they worked with and become more than just coworkers?
How did things work out for you?

I only came across two olds threads like this from mybb (here and here).
Yes, if you not working in the same department. If you see each other the whole day at work, hell no... thats just you being horny. If she's married big no, this could destroy your reputation even worse if you married yourself thats just stupid and will definitely reach all four corners of the world once **** hits the fan.

I am a closeted bisexual male. I joined this new company a few years ago, and when I first met this more senior guy in our department, I immediately felt some sort of connection with him. We would do the usual small chitchat and I eventually found out he was single, which made me hopeful.

I became infatuated with this guy. I don't usually fall immediately for guys or girls in general, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. I could be having the worst day at work, but when he smiled and talked to me, everything would feel better. Even though I didn't really know much about him, I felt like I was in love, as crazy as that sounds. I decided to just put up with the mental torture of trying to be normal work colleagues with a guy I knew would never look at me the same way I looked at him. Nothing ever happened, as much as I hoped for something.

I ended up leaving the company (for career reasons), but the worst part is, I sometimes think about this guy even today and wonder what would have happened if I tried a little harder.

That's one way to mess up your life (and those around you). Who keeps the house?
Wife can keep it. I'll get a new one xD

Truth be told, not even thought about it. But yea, this whole thing is a mess. And only because I messed up my own rule... NEVER CATCH FEELINGS! But it is what it is. I'm just going on about my life as normal atm. She the Redhead has her hot and cold days. Some days she just want to see me and chat and, yes and... Other days it's like she's avoiding me. So for the last week or so I just ignored her flat out.
Being extremely busy with work again helps. Will see what happens, maybe I don't even ever speak to her again. But it's not fun I can tell you that, mind and feelings all over the place. Haven't felt like this is over 20 years xD

Eventually I mustered all the courage I had in me and asked if he wanted to get lunch (at the office canteen, like what normal work colleagues do, I guess), which he agreed to! I was so excited. The big day came, and it turned out to be a disappointment. The conversation was awkward, and I got the impression he wasn't really interested. It felt like I was putting in all the effort.

I thought maybe this was a good thing, that maybe that was a form of closure, but for some strange reason, a part of me was convinced to not give up. I was about to ask him if he wanted to go get drinks or something after work or during the weekend, but better judgment told me not to. Bi guy going after a straight guy (an assumption) in the same company is a recipe for disaster.

"What was wrong with my brain for feeling like this? Can't you just be friends with him?"
"Why would he even be interested in someone like me? Even if he was gay/bi, he could probably do better."

I decided it would be best to try and cut this guy out completely, but it was easier said than done. He was based in a different office building from me, so usually we didn't see each other in person that often. I'm not sure if I was just making it up in my head, but I could swear he started coming by my office more and more frequently after we had lunch. I would try to act busy with work and avoid eye contact, but he would sometimes just come right up to me to greet me and talk. I didn't want to be rude or seem like a dick, so I just put up with the mental torture of trying to be normal work colleagues with a guy I knew would never look at me the same way I looked at him. Reason I always shoot my shots. Worse that can happen id you get turned down and move on. But having to live with the "what if" will just drive me mental!

Nea, I'll let her do the approaching from now on. I'm cold as ham with her atm. So if she really wants me she will work for it. If not, we had a smashing time! Life goes on.

You feel bad because you running around keeping secrets. Do the right thing. Sit down with your wife and redhead and tell them it's time for a threesome.

Short answer technically yes but technically I was the employer in some of the situations. Some of the joys of contract work.

I've made moves on actual co-workers when I was employed by a compaybut never got anywhere really
