Ronaldo to Real???

First of all their headline was 'Real and United put pen to paper on 70 million deal' like it had just been announced by one of the clubs

They Picked up on this story and immediately reminded us that this was a more respected Spanish newspaper. Since when has that bothered them? They have been the first to use any stories from Marca, AS etc. They then went on to say a Portugese paper went on to copy the story (taking this as meaning it must be true )but the paper added Pepe would be used in part exchange . Yes because I am sure with Rio, Vidic and Evans we would want Pepe

They then went on to say that the deal may not happen because Perez may go for ***a instead, as he would be cheaper, clearly believing every word. But hang on a minute, didn't they tell us a few weeks ago that they understood we would meet with ***a and his reps in the next 10 days?

I think Ronaldo has to take a good look at what has happened to the likes of Beckham, Van Nistelrooy and Owen before he makes a stupid decision.

Apparently Ronaldo has taken out a patent on CR9....Raul wears number 7 for Madrid so this means he's already planning for life at the Bernabeu.

what happened to van nistelrooy exactly? top scorer? 2 league titles?

Since he left in 2006 united have won a league, the double, and could win another double this season. Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals in 220 starts for united and held the clubs scoring record in european football with 38 goals... When he left everyone new he had a brighter future in england and in actual fact you cant begin to compare the spanish league with the english league.

Theres no where near as much competition, to back this up have a look at barca's goal difference for example... its more than double that of Real Madrids and further more Madrids goal difference is one goal less than TRIPLE that of third places (sevilla i think). Surely this speaks volumes about the Spanish league!

Thats why for someone with as much class as Ruud Van Nistelrooy to be top scorer in the Spanish league isn't the biggest deal. Lifes far more easier for good players in the Spanish league and thats why theres far less limelight for the players in Spain and for La Liga itself.

So back to Ronaldo, top scorer last season in the EPL and he's a WING (and remember the league title came down to the last match and very nearly down to goal difference!!!) THATS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF! and thats something that could have been achieved by a great player like Van Nistelrooy... why go ruin it by playing in a league that undermines yourself and your ability?

People can say what they like about the Spanish league.

It has the best players currently playing there and all the greats once graced the Spanish fields.

Zidanne, Marodona Ronaldinho, Romario, Ronaldo (9), Raul, Di Stefano, Cruyff, Rivaldo... the list is endless.

It had almost every World Player of the year for an extremely long time. The EPL has only had one. It was the first time when Ronaldo won it. La Liga has had it all the years.

The list is endless. That is why players want to play in Spain. The worlds best wants to play with other players that are considered the worlds best. They want to prove they can too be great like the legends that played there before them.

I think you totally missed the point I was trying to make.

I hear what you're saying. I don't dispute the fact that they have the greatest and have had the greatest players of all time, i would never be that ignorant towards La Liga! all i'm saying is that the level of competition in the EPL is way ahead of La Liga and any other league for that matter. Its for that reason that its (EPL) the most watched sports league in the world.

It's the most watched, because it's the funnest to watch. The pace is breakneck the whole time, whether you're watching Wigan vs Hull or Liverpool vs MUnited.

The most watched sports league has to do with the bucket loads of money the media brings to the EPL.

For me personally, La Liga is more entertaining. Much more entertaining. Its a more open, fast paced and far more technical game in Spain. Teams go out and try to score goals! That is ENTERTAINING. In England, if you score one goal, you close shop and try to defend. For me that is very boring.

When Barca played Chelsea. Chelsea played the typical English way. Defend Defend Defend. For me that is not entertaining.

The EPL is going through a good patch at the moment but one cannot say that the serie a and La Liga are not that good. Hell, you got a La Liga team in the CL final.

Another thing that makes La Liga more exciting for me is that every year you have different teams who qualify for the CL. That speaks volumes about the depth in the league.

In England there is no depth. It is a fact that La Liga is stronger overall when you compare the two leagues. Hell even Torres has said so.

I see you also confused by saying that La Liga is poor cos Barca has scored so many goals. If i were to use that logic it would mean that the Champions League is also poor, cos Barca have scored over 30 goals almost doubling any other teams goal average.

Barca are scoring that much goals because they are playing AMAZING football. If they were in any other league i would expect the same goal return. Hence why Chelsea played so uber defensive, cos they never wanted to concede 4 goals.

So the 4-1 London Derby was what? A once-off?

I used to watch all the leagues when I was a student. I still prefer the EPL. More fun.

EDIT: The other leagues are for girls.

I do. I just needed to say that "other leagues are for girls" thing after posting about the pansie England squad. I love contradictions! :D
HEHEHEHEHE or rather (S)HE(S)HE(S)HE(S)HE(S)HE

:p

Subjectively, I cant say which league is better and which league you should watch. But factually the EPL is more popular and has by far the most support.

As for the fact that 4 different teams always qualify for the CL from Spain. First of all there will always be Barca and Madrid, the other two are always different because without Barca and Madrid theres NO other competition (ok valencia's had its seasons).

Imagine you took Arsenal and Chelsea out the EPL. United and LP would make the CL year in and year out like they do anyway, but the other two teams would also always be different. Have a look at the fight for 5th and 6th place this season, anything could happen between everton, man city, villa and spurs (not this season but with all due respect they should be up there) without Arsenal and Chelsea any of these teams would make it into the CL and thats why they always differ in the Spanish league because there are only 2 dominant clubs. So its "easier" for smaller club to fight for a place in the CL.
