Hi,
I've recently been told my 384k ADSL line is installed (did it through Axxess).
I have a DLink DSL-2750u router.
A laptop running Ubuntu 10.10.
I've tried many things and I just can't connect!
VPI=8
VCI=35
PPPoE
Router and Subnet IP is appropriate.
My laptop IP then becomes 10.0.0.3 and router is the gateway.
Auto DHCP is on.
I've called Telkom and they say the line is fine. Should be working.
What I've noticed is that the DSL light on the router is blinking green.
Am told it should be solid. I leave it on for over 20mins and it still blinks.
Router diagnostics tell me that ethernet passes, but DSL fails (doesn't get a change to goto ISP).
My physical setup is:
............................/ --> router --> laptop (via ethernet for now)
wall jack --> splitter
............................\ --> microfilter --> telephone
I've tried connecting the router directly to the wall jack as well.
Still get that blinking light.
oh how it blinks...
