A military aircraft missed its landing at Goma airport (North Kivu) this Thursday afternoon. The aircraft registered in South Africa came from Beni. It experienced a breakdown in its downward phase. It is a flight in support of the South African contingent of MONUSCO. Initial reports indicate that 59 passengers on board and 8 members of the crew left the aircraft unharmed. The fire-fighting vehicle was mobilized to put out the fire.

A UN spokesman stated Thursday that a South African military plane crash-landed at Goma airport in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
So far, there's no information about casualties or damages done. At the same time, Internet users have started sharing photos and videos from the scene of the incident.
Thought videos and photos show heavy smoke rising from the aircraft, two sources told Reuters on condition of anonymity, that there did not appear to be major damage to the plane.

According to a source at the United Nations Organization Stabilisation Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), the aircraft was travelling from the city of Beni and was carrying soldiers from the South African contingent.

The video I have shows a severe fire on the number two engine with aircraft off the runway.

So, how many left in the fleet now?
