RSAWEB reduces ADSL access prices

There's definitely a company in SA who'll sell you a line only at these sort of rates without tying you into extra services. But I can't remember the name

Nope - RSAWEB is offering this at Telkom Wholesale rates.
Offering just the line would make no sense.
I on the other hand waited for 3, yes 3, months for Web Africa to transfer my line back to Telkom. And yes my account with them was and still is in credit. Will never use them again.
So you were lucky moving 3 times, I had difficulty moving 2 times
I also had issues, did not take 3 months but when moving my line from WA back to Telkom, I was charged an ADSL installation fee from Telkom. Took about 3 months to get that reversed.
Until I have more faith in the process, the bit of saving is not worth it and as much as I hate it, my line is staying with Telkom.

Comparing apples with apples:
Axxess : 384 line = R139 + 1gb R39 = R178 (R19 is for the Lite option)
RSAWeb : 384 line = R129 + 1gb R29 = R158
Apples with Apples
Cybersmart is line + 1 gig for R149 unshapped (also according to some ratings the fastest dsl provider)
RSAWEB is line + 1 gig for R158 unshapped
Plus cybersmart offers top ups for R25.50 whereas RSAWEB is R29 a gig
But the kicker is if you move your line to cybersmart you get an additional 5 gigs a month FOR FREE

You cant use your cybersmart line with other isps, where you can with RSAWEB (no fine print found yet....)

Just had a Look to get teh 10Mb with 3Gigs will be R2 more than Cybersmart (you have to buy the gigs)
nice try though we need more of this bring the prices down and the speeds up!
OH and I am using my Cybersmart with another ISP shhh don't tell anyone
Just checked it out, you must buy at least a gig with it, which brings the price of the 384 + 1 gig to R158 a month, R9 more than cybersmart ...
Instead of "free gigs" they just tell you they start cheaper ....

mmmmmm........ this sounds interesting. i am also considering moving my line to them. saving moola will be nice.

No catches or any hidden terms. A minimum of a 1GB data package and you can get any line you want at the cheap rate.

The difference is more pronounced at the high end of the spectrum for uncapped users
up to 10MBps: Telkom ADSL Line only : R413
Cybersmart ADSL + 3GB : R399
RSAWeb ADSL + 1GB : R351 (and then you can get any ADSL data package on top of that as you please ( in my case the best value uncapped)
So combine it with an uncapped 4mbps data account...
MWeb ADSL + Uncapped : R899
RSAWeb ADSL + 1GB + Uncapped data package: R850
That's a fairly decent saving
Am I understanding this right? For a total of R512-00, I get a ADSL line @ 10Mbit + 10gig per month, unshaped and nothing extra to pay Telkom? How much costs the installation? Never had Telkom anywhere near my house. I don't want a home phone. Just ADSL. Please explain.

let me think about it Kybeckx. as i understand its a saving of R61. not sure if going through all that trouble just for a saving of R61. I burned myself already with TRL Technologies. if i could just pay the line rental i would be happy though.

I use my line with other ISP's almost everyday.
yeah, I forget that some people can't even get 1MB out of their 4MB line. I'm one of the lucky ones that gets 10MB/s because I'm so close to the exchange. I also see that my line is syncing at 18MB/s.
So I'm loving Telkom :-D
