I don't see the value of separate watched and un watched folders
Plex marks a movie as watched once you've watched it.

I swear by Plex and only reason I went for Kodi is it was the easiest route to get the PC in my daughters room not to show all the content. The rest of my house will still rely solely on Plex - that won't change
Until they get a bit older and clever enough to add another source in Kodi that is.

You guys are too quick today - had a lot of real job work so far today.
As mentioned, previously the solution that wouldn't cost anything is to just create a separate Plex account for the little person, then only share the libraries you want to share with that account.
With a PlexPass it's even better as you can use the content ratings and set up "Home" accounts, so you can create a "Kids" account that is restricted to everything under TV-PG for example and a pin-protected account for yourself.

It will make sense when you have a "Movies" folder with over 1000 movies and a "New Movies" with around 600 movies. It just makes life easier.
For now I don't need to worry about that - all they care about is that it works!
That bridge I will cross in a few years but by then it shouldn't be a problem.

That is the first thing I did when I setup their Server is create a new account. At first I only saw the "server" on their machine but after a restart it showed everything.
If they are going to use Plex / Kodi more often, I might look into getting a Plex Pass to sort this out but for now, Kodi will have to do in their room.

My Plex system has been running so long I can't even tell you where my Movies folder is...but there is only one and no need for more.
Only split I do is having a separate folder Kiddie movies and then one for Live Shows / Concerts etc.

I'm almost certain there was a way to disallow access to your server.
maybe it was as simple as setting up a password to it so that you can't auto-access it.

In the settings somewhere you can setup secure access to the server and then just don't allow your daughters PC IP address on the list, won't that work?

That should work fine yes.
I just can't remember exactly which options were available to you.
I have tried enabling the "manually specify server" on my daughters PC under Plex Home Theatre and added the "Server" IP address but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Yeah I thought there would be something like that but only thing I could find was enabling the "manually specify server" option which I did but didn't help.

Not on the client side, on the server side.
Manually specifically is only forcing the server to use, it doesnt' disable the Auto Discovery. It's meant for when something is broken and auto discovery isn't working.
On the server in question you need to either disallow certain IP's or allow only certain IP's. I'll try to remember to have a look tonight.
