RunDLL ERROR!

Sweet thx Astro did not see it there lol.

Thanks for all the inputs and help

That is the lazy way out & sometimes more time consuming.

If you struggle once, you know how to fix it next time.

Next time the problem might take you 30min to fix & reinstall/reload all takes longer than that

+1

It was damn difficult removing that bloody virus as well.

And now i know how

Fox with windows disc????, help the noob

Sorry i had to run off and typed very fast...not as if you dont make any typo's...now the reason why i suggested that you try and FIX it with your windows disc is the same reason why i suggested a system restore.....

whats up with the sarcasm? I just thought that it would replace system files that were deleted when you cleaned your pc....

You wont necessarily see something in the line of "Nettrace2.dll" in msconfig
or at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

It could be an application which launches rundll32 and tell rundell32 to make use of the API's inside nettrace2.dll.
I would remove all startup applications in MSCONFIG and only allow the ones to automatically start which im 100% sure is legit.

The search the registry for nettrace2.dll and delete all registry keys related to it with path c:\Users\Username\appdata\Roaming....

(At your own risk) :-)

I

It was in CurrentVersion\Run, I just un-ticked it in msconfig Startup programs. (he wanted to see how, this is a little safer/simpler than regedit).
