Runners : What's your PBs so far?

So I cut some corners but managed 3.4km's in 24 mins. Slow I know but its a start

Just thought I'd update this. Been running for roughly a year now. Did the GunRun this weekend, was my 2nd half marathon. Finished in 2h18. Not the fastest out there but really chuffed with time.

Those are very good times for a start. Keep it up.

I'm a bit stressed out, doing a half marathon this weekend and the last one I did was back in May. Hopefully I will manage something below two hours otherwise it would just be embarrassing.

And here I dream of doing a sub 2

Is there any scientific way of measuring/comparing a PB? For example last week's CSIR race was fairly flat, had a tough uphill but then an almost 3-4km very fast downhill - so you could kill 10km in an easy 40min. I guess my point being is that I have seen people posting PB's on their homeruns which consisted of a 5km flat/downhill which will obviously be faster than varying terrain.

My first three half marathons were 2+ hours, after that its usually between 1:45 and 1:55.

If you want a fairly easy half marathon then you should try the Witsand Vlaktes half marathon, its sometime in November, flat most of the way except for the last 4km in the town. That is where I got my PB of 1h38.

Only way would be if every person ran the same route on the same day at the same time and started in the same position...
For me I only consider official race times as part of my PB's.

Did my first sub 60min 10km last night. Super chuffed
So as it stands:
5km - 27mins
10km - 58mins
21.1km - 2h18

Did you get that in an official race or was it just a practise run on your own?

I have never done a 7k race, tonight will be my first time. Its a night forest trail run and the weather has been pretty bad so its going to be interesting.

Yip, was the Old Mutual 10km in Pinelands

That is a nice one if you are looking for a PB. I'll only be doing Wednesday races in December, the Metropolitan one is a killer with all those hills around Tygervalley. There is also a sweet run at the Taal Monument on 11/12/2013 which is quite hard.

Was actually just looking at races to do in December. Looking at doing either one of or both the 15km in Table View on Dec 14 and the Sundowner 10km at the Waterfront on Dec 18

Recently upped my best times to:

5k : 27:38
10k: 57:03

Plan to run a 10k race soonish, maybe early next year - will try for 55

5km - 21:57
10km - 46:57
15km - 1:18:00
21km - 1:45:05

Still running but these were all before I got seriously sick (all better now but took almost 9 months to recover)
