RWC game OZ vs SA

Wonder if SA had won and the ref was "for" the other team, what would the dear citizens here say then?
Whats your issue with us criticizing the referee....? All we wanted was FAIR refereeing. What we got was atrocious.

Comprende...?

We would still be saying how shocking the ref was, even if it finished 8-9.

EDIT: As Zenbaas says, we just want fair referee that is prepared to adjudicate the breakdown.

Sorry guys, I didn't intend to troll. It's just that I didn't realize that complaining would change the score of the game. Apologies.

It won't. Hopefully if we complain enough, they will do something and then in the future we won't have such shocking officiating.

Nothing can change what happened, but we can try make changes for the future.

Don't be dick about it.

We're also sorry. We didn't realize that we aren't allowed to complain unless it can change the score of the game. Apologies.

Bryce Lawrence has a terrible reputation. He was criticised in the Aus vs Irl game. He was shocking in the Super15, including his absurd call on the Beast for dangerous play before the scrum had even taken place.

He's a right royal w@nker of a ref and doesn't deserve to be reffing a school game, let alone a world cup match...

Nope, all I am saying is we like to bitch all the time, if we had won we would have told the Ozzies to STFU

Unlikely when it comes to Bryce Lawrence. Even if it wasn't us complaining, it would have been the Aussies. He is just not capable of reffing a decent game...

Don't worry, easy mistake to make. Apology accepted. :)

I think we've all learnt a valuable lesson here today and are big enough to wish the Australians all the best in the rest of the competition :P

Definitely not willing to go that far..! :)

Ref was ****, but SA had enough chances to bury Australia, and just didn't take them. Handling error after handling error, just when it counted, should have had 4-5 tries today

I wish people would stop blaming the ref -> he wasnt the best, i accept that - but he was consistent between the teams (basically I dont feel he was being unfair on purpose, calls went either way)
People should blame the coach and john smit (who, if he was sucha great leader, would have done what was best for the team and sat bench/returned to south africa)
At the end of the day, we screwed up most of the many opportunities we created for ourselves and unfortunately lost :(
:'(

I disagree. We had most of the possession, territory and dominated in everything. But as soon as the boys got close to the try line and a ruck was formed, the Aussies would slow the ball down, go off their feet or put hands in the ruck. If you know anything about rugby, you'd know that none of that is legal. The SA ruck would land up being a free for all with the ref oblivious to the rules and completely blind to any infringement. However, I can't say that the ref might not have allowed us to do the same, simply because the Aussies didn't see the ball enough for them to ruck enough times and allow SA to do so. They had good line out ball but we were better. They held our scrum, but just did so. They played poorly and did not deserve the win.

We didn't squander our chances as much as they were spoiled by the Aussies hands in when ever we set up a phase inside the 5 meter line. I wouldn't go as far as calling the ref a cheat, but something was not on, considering the attention given to the break down by all the referees in all the other games. Can't say that the ref doesn't know the law either, after all, he is an international referee selected for the WC.

Bahahaha. Not today, maybe tommorrow. :P
