You typed that on an iPhone? Lol.Iphpne
Just the other weekend I was shooting against a Note 3. Decent camera but it's no iPhone camera.![]()
Not sure why we are discussing older generation phones than the ones the OP is considering but...
This detailed comparison indicates a close win for the iPhone 5s camera BUT the Samsung Note 3 loses plenty ground in the night shoot with it scoring 3 vs the iPhone 5s getting 8. Concern seems to be whether the option of "smart stabilisation" was used in the test as this results in far better night images.
A score of 8 there and the phones would end with the same sort of overall result.
(You sadly also always need to factor in US iPhone bias when considering any phone comparisons.

Edit: Always like GSMarena as they tend to be more objective with less bias. They rate the Note 3 2nd to the Lumia 1020, and the iPhone 5s 5th out of six phones tested... http://m.gsmarena.com/six_way_camera_shootout-review-998p10.php
I actually looked at both photos on my iPhone so the screen isn't to blame... I'm just comparing what the colour my eye sees to the colour my photos show on the iPhone screen...
It's possible that on a PC that it's a totally different outcome but I'm not going to check and will take your word rather. I do miss the detail though if I need to crop

Google Nexus or iPhone.
Those do look better than the ones I posted from my iPhone... Maybe my lighting wasn't ideal...
This is from an iPhone 5 I had last yearView attachment 165537
Must say the Nexus has a brilliant experience! I tried it out this weekend.. the iPhone as well, but still going for the Z3 compact, great phones though
I take it that you don't care much for having the best camera, or at least a very good one?
Not really a cam lover, smoothness and one-hand typing does it for me![]()
Then the Sony will be a good choice, if you weren't able to one hand type on the iPhone. Careful about smoothness, iPhone will always win.
Check this review out of the S5, found it on YouTube by a local guy
