SA freakin TAX

French Tax rate 0-75%

Maxes out with 1.2million Euros for 2 people.

Perspective:
If you were a family of 2 adults and 3 children making 100,000 Euros your tax rate would be 14%

That's 1.2Million Rand, and you pay 14% income tax, kids.

In areas with lots of minerals I see. We only have the labor here and if you wanna keep labor cheap......

Dude, its changing. DA will take over in the next 15 years. Its on the cards. The democratic machine that the DA has created to drive their machine is very powerful and is considered on par with Dems in the USA. The guys here have really worked hard on creating a resilient system of governance. The amount of voters the DA is picking up in former ANC strongholds is amazing. Im in the Eastern Cape, I am attending the rural meetings where I am seeing entire communities switching over.

I go to my branch in my neighborhood. A DA stronghold.... and hardly anyone from my ward pitches. I go to an area like Elliot. And wow. 600-700 people in blue shirts. Things are changing and the DA have a fairly good system.

Go try apply for a grant. Lmk what you get it for cause Ill get one as well. 100 billion is spent on grants. You cant get a grant if you a healthy worker.

And I don't believe the DA will win until this country is back in the iron age. By then, it will be too late. Those of us living here NOW, paying huge taxes NOW, will never ever see the fruits of our labours.

I can not find it. I pasted it once on the forum as an image and the image had a reference. I still believe its a pretty accurate assertion ....especially because I know some left wing groups in the ANC wants to include unemployed people onto the grant system..... a type of doll.

And I don't believe the DA will win until this country is back in the iron age. By then, it will be too late. Those of us living here NOW, paying huge taxes NOW, will never ever see the fruits of our labours.

I drive over bridges built by people who died a long time ago. They built them knowing it would be the future generations that would benefit from it the most. Im pretty sure you are wrong about the DA. Its over in the next 15. Those of you at university would have seen your DASO ranks swell like never before. There are 9 million new voters coming into the voting pool this election cycle. I think you underestimate the growth and progress the DA has made into that demographic.

The people who built those bridges _ALSO_ benefited from them as soon as they were built. Bad analogy. They were an INVESTMENT in the future that reaped instant AND long-term rewards.
Right now I just see my tax money going into a bottomless pit of black BMWs and plane charters. Zero investment, zero reward, just pissing my money up against the wall. Instead, the infrastructure investment is funded AFTER tax - etolls, eskom power hikes, etc.

Yup things are bad now. The Bantu Education Act is not well known for creating good leaders. However the voting base is changing. There are a lot more informed votes in this coming up election, than there were in the last.
 
If you want to make change happen faster Sinbad, stand up to the plate. The more smart hard working people working the faster it will be.

What more can I do?
Most of my time is spent working to pay for those black bmws. I don't have the skills to get into politics. I have offered my services free of charge to investigate network issues at our local walk in revenue centre and been declined. I vote.
Ideas appreciated...

Get in touch with your ward executive. Help improve your local ward. I know those councilors are always looking for help. Ask them if you can assist them in any BlueWave initiatives. Theyre always looking for people.

I have. How do you think I made that offer?
I email him several times a month escalating service delivery issues in our suburb.
I don't have time to join the DA, and I will not be able to earn from them what I earn now in full time employment if I quit my job.
 
I was watching Fifth Gear last night which had a segment about the drifting scene in Norway. The car taxes there are rediculous, people buy £20,000 cars and not bother licensing them because it would cost them £60,000, so they are pure track cars.
