First you want help from WoW players then you say you wont be playing. So which is it? WoW carries a teen rating so you don't qualify to play in any case. Might I refer you to Hello Kitty Adventure Island should you wish to play a MMO more suited to your "tastes".

Firstly this thread was created for the benefit of people like ME, a newbie and for guys to know which guilds are in operation at the moment. This thread was not created for YOU to personally attack people. whatever beef you guys have take it to another thread. this bashing has gone for 6 pages which now i have to sift through information to see if its relevant to what i need.

Although I'm sure not many people might know the nick, but it's the one I used in the old Quake 3 Warfare/WCG days, the same nick I used on the Rez-Sickness forums, and today I use the nick 'Bortar' on the Unforgiven forums - the same name as my main in the guild.

I would like to suggest this thread be renamed and a new thread be formed by Conack, or anyone up for the job, clear of all the bitchfighting. I trust that if Conack does it, it will be correct and up to date... If you look at any Realm Forum you will find a progression thread stickied at the top. The idea of having one for the ZA community is great imo - it could even spark a little friendly competition like in the good 'ol FoA vs NP days

Dailies, selling stuff on AH (from professions or even enchanting mats acquired from running HCs with an enchanter), runnning heroics and hopefully not die =P
Also successful raids without too many wipes can prove to be very profitable ^_^

Introduction:
HI, my name is Grolm and I am a wow addict.

I must say I am not siding too much here, ill just give some fact from my point of view, you use, don’t use the info. Grab a beer…..

Been doing WOW now for 4 years. Last 3 on TH with most peeps in UF2. Firstly some solid oke’s there:
Chevago, Scollie, Faelwin(RIP), Hito, Skok, Loth, Nojic(RIP), Porn, Haydes, Demi, OB, Yhunthi, Garr(RIP), Beelz, Bromide, Sal(RIP), Elbe(jou lekker ding), and some more.

Had a few braais in PTA,George and PE. Seeing we all put 2 much time into this game, I like the camaraderie and socializing away from the pc and always tried to get to an event if one is planned and I can travel, seeing I am in PE and miles from the bigger player hubs. This said, a guild must feel like a family and I always thought loyalty is one of the higher attributes to value from ppl, but I am sad to relay it’s not the case with UF2. I was cut deep brothers DEEP.*sob* CRIT *sob*.
But seriously, what went wrong for me 2 leave UF2 after 3 years of having solid playtime and being a good raider and most off all, being mostly loyal. Let me tell ya.

A month or 2 ago the UF2 management started to hint at letting 2 players back who made some kind of ****:
Kiljoy(AKA Nothingness/Dawnsky) – Ninja loot with a pally named Bravehith some loot in NAX25.He gets kicked. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Garr – Emo a bit about raiding spots, but all in all good player and oke. Got kicked. Sad.

Then low and behold UF management started 2 vote to get them back. I vehemently posted on the UF forums against Kiljoy coming back, since you see, He has been an a-hole from TBC days. Plus he ninjalootz. Did I mention he’s an a-hole?
What saddened me was as soon as I started to say no to Kiljoy, you could see his buddies coming up for him and attacking me directly on the UF forums(Horibi, Darkendsoul, Syldorian, and some more). We all know the sub groupings in wow exist as in RL.
BUT the big thing is, Kiljoy is a friend of Conack, so I saw that him coming back is a done deal… Voting was a shadow veil.
BUT the saddest part is when I did a PM to Conack to say Ill come to George and we all sort all this out(Me and Killjoy), he went and took that PM and posted it on the forums and attacked me.
So I left UF2. Joined Fleetwood and BAM, We dropped LK on 25 man 1 week ago - -that’s what I call raiding BABEEEE.

What do we learn from this? Its basically this:

From a UF2 point raiding was ok. There were some problems and now that I am in a multi-national guild that kicks ass, I can see it cleared now, always wondered, but now I know. So what did I see as UF2 failings:

- Taking back ppl that proved themselves not loyal.
- Still smell the favoritism. I could see who was underperforming in raids(DC, positioning, time, stats,skill), but they were kept on for months because they where budzzz.
- GM and RL is the boss. No arguing. It’s not a popularity contest. Take ppl of raiding if they fail. This didn’t happen. If you want to be a care bear, don’t say raiding is you aim.
- And a side effect, time spends progressing is slow, and one was always one patch behind….

That’s my story and my 2 cents. So when are we having a braai? Ppl can then throw the issues on the floor and sort it out onetime!!!

What really works for our raid schedules, is cancelling the favoritism all-together.

For our 25man schedule it goes a bit different, but for 10man its always an issue.
We devised the following for our 10man schedules:

An officer or captain is required to host the raid.
This person is required to OPENLY invite anyone who meets the requirements.
Requirements for heals, tank and dps are separate and evaluated as such.
DPS needs to do a 2minute self-buff only session on the heroic dummies.
Heals needs to do basically the same, except they just selbuff heal a person standing still.
Tanks are evaluated on a scale of HP and Avoidance.

The open invitation process is to announce in guild, as an example:
"10MAN ICC OPEN, FRESH RUN, PST INV OR INVITE FOR INVITE. 3K RATING REQUIRED."
From that point, the officer MUST invite ANYONE and EVERYONE who wants in for that run, as long as they meet the requirement.
Yes, obviously you end up with 5 tanks, 7 healers and 20 dps.
Tanks, heals and DPS are split into separate groups (DPS split into melee and ranged).
Anyone who has a dualspec that meets the requirements in BOTH their specs, are placed in the "Hybrid group", but only if they WANT to opt for the hybrid group (long story).

At this point... roll-offs occur.
Officer will announce in raid chat that Tanks will now roll.
"TANK SEATS! GROUP 1 AND 2 ROLL FOR SEATS. TOP 2 ROLLS WIN"
Enough said really, doesnt require much thought to figure out, that the 2 tanks that roll the highest will get the seats. The ones who dont get seats are marked in Officer notes as being rolled out.

The same is done for healers.
"HEALER SEATS! GROUP 3 AND 4 ROLL FOR SEATS. TOP 2 ROLLS WIN"

Once that is done, the "Hybrid" group gets rolled, if any are available.
We only hace seat for ONE hybrid designate in any 10man raid.
We only class hybrid seats as Heals/DPS... so basically... Paladins, Druids, Shamans, priests etc with Heal/DPS specs.
This is mostly just for weaker runs, so that we dont need to replace anyone during raid to switch to a 3heal setup should it be needed.

Once that is done, the melee and ranged seats are rolled.

This leaves you with 10 people, all capable as proved by their individual rankings, and no favoritism of any kind in the raid make-up.

The rest are all marked as i said, in officer notes.
For every mark that you have been rolled off for, you can invoke your marks at the next raid, where each mark counts as +10 to your /roll.
This ensures that a group of how many ever unlucky people will still get their seats regardless of a streak of bad luck.

We have 4 10man groups per week as it stands atm, but where edging on having to bring in a 5th very soon.

For 25man, the same happens, except we mark the roll-offs with a different mark.
Being rolled-off the 25man schedule close-to GUARANTEES your seat in the next 25man.
Anyone in 25man with a roll-off mark against them gets priority over non-marked people.
So if there is already 3 tanks in before roll-offs and theyre all 3 marked, and 2 others are not, those 2 are automatically removed in favor of the 3 blokes who didnt get in last time.

So, unless youre able to actually hack other people's /rolls, you cant favor anyone over someone else even if you wanted to.

Though reluctant to post here (lest it fuels the fire), I aim to rebuff defamation which I believe to be bias, not factual. When the South African guild I’d been a member of for 4 years on Sylvanas disbanded, I received offers from other progressive guilds on Sylvanas, but sought to find a South African guild who was dedicated and offbeat with a strong sense of community.

This process did not happen overnight – I thoroughly investigated the reputation and progress of every South African guild I came across over a period of months. Only three guilds stood out for me: Natural Perfection, FoA and Unforgiven II – guilds comprising players who were clearing 40 man content at the same time that my guild was. All GM’s responded timeously and amicably to my enquiries and, because I was familiar with Twilight’s Hammer, I applied to Unforgiven II.

Quite honestly, I haven’t had this much fun raiding since good ol’ MC days with the founding members of SC – dare I say, it renewed my interest in the game itself! I suggest that peeps make their own informed decisions rather than allowing the biased recollections of one or two people influence them negatively.

The incident happened a long time ago and the guys apologized over and over and really tried to make amends. The whole thing became a personal poef-chucking between you making personal attacks at him and his buddies making personal attacks at you. All going on while he (KJ) stayed humble and kept quiet. Forgive and forgot china...
2. Two polls were created for KJ and Gar and everybody voted. KJ got 63% and Gar 82% Yes votes. So your comments about Conack's friendship with KJ and the "shadow veil" is total bull****.
3. The reasons why Gar got kicked are similar to your behavior during the "return of the exiles". You are not the only one who was pissed off about the thing, but you were the only one going out of your way to stir up **** that's in the passed, you made a bunch of bs sarcastic posts and even wanted to sort it out in RL. WoW is a game, all WoW **** gets sorted out in-game, you can't expect people to give up personal time to sort out your inability to forgive somebody.

Grats with Fleetwood and LK, I'm sure being 15th on the DPS is not bitter sweet at all. Don't get me wrong, Fleetwood is a great guild, but posting about how awesome you are doing with your new guild when they are carrying you, is sad and pathetic.

All the solid okes you listed above, was it really worth turning your back on everybody and everything over 1 person that you dislike?

The funny thing is, even after all your bs in UFII and on this thread, you will probably be welcomed back if you ever want to return...

1. Hell he blamed being drunk. What a laugh. He was making *** since TBC. He was kicked from RZ by Boneaxe and re-invited and still went sour.No forgetting someone who makes ur fun wow time an irritating time.
2. And how many ppl voted? 40% of the raiders? or 80% of social and raiders? even ppl that didn't play wow anymore voted.
3. Its a Rl person behind the screen. You have 2 start there, not ingame.

My uptime was much lower(died for the cause in the fight), my GS is 200 lower than the other hunter, and my dps was still more than his. Get to LK first and see the fight and then comment if my performance was good. RL in Fleetwood is happy - -nuff said.

Well yesterday I applied to a South African guild for the first time after raiding solid for 4 years under EU guilds, and one thing most guilds keep forgetting... your members are your ambassadors for your guild. The manner in which they portray themselves to the general wow population has a direct impact on potential raiders applying to their ranks.

There are certain South African guilds I would NEVER consider due to one or two of their members being just plain arrogant and idiotic. Now flaming one another can be great up to a point, but remember, the WoW raiding community in South Africa is not that big. In a way I am damn glad I never went through all this drama and guild breakups mentioned earlier in the threads. Sadly when it comes to WoW, friendships and guild commitments can clash big time... Being a GM / RL is a big challenge, and I would personally never like to be in that position.

WoW people sometimes tend to forget there is real people behind those toons ...

I had no beef with you or your decision to quit UFII. In fact I kinda respected it, some people value progression very highly and I am sure many have struggled with difficult choices a couple of times. But to speak about loyalty and friendship and commitment while slandering the guild you were a part of for so long on a public forum isn’t exactly respect inspiring.

Favoratism? Really? Name a name or two and a potential better player in that guys spot? Oh wait we have had only so many people to work with. DC's, limited recruits and 9 hours a week for progression tends to have one progress slower than other topnotch, hardcore international guilds. Always whining about people DC'ing and not doing their part BUT NEVER OFFERING A SOLUTION.

Still we make it work. Doing pretty well as a SA guild with bonds that go deeper than epixx.

Conack isn't even one of KJ's so-called uber friends. Nor was he Garn’s at that particular point in time. Neither am I a RL buddy of either of them. You could have stayed on happily like many did ignoring KJ/Garn.

So dont come with this loyalty bull****. You don’t understand the meaning of the word. Remember QQing about not getting a ZA spot back in the day (RE) while at the same time raiding with your shaman in RS? Now posting all buddy like on our forums while going at this in the same breath?

Ya man LK drop was epic stuff. Realm first as well. Its a point i tried always to infuse. Do what you have to do at the right time, then the dps will sort itself out by itself. Hope your also getting some ICC action that side in UF!
