SA iPod prices see reduction

Haha, nice to see a drop at least but I dont see how a 'positive dollar shipment' alone leads to R1000+ reductions....

Plus I though we dont get stock from USA so whats the dollar got to do with it in the first place?

GREAT. now, when is the ipone 3GS price going to drop.

Yes, they are fantastic products and I have one or two myself, but they still come in at the same price as a entry level laptop. OK a laptop is not as portable, but you know what I mean.

i bet incredible connexion will be increasing their prices instead

Watch - new product range/generation will be launched shortly - theyre just cleaning out old stock

Nice price drops on the Touch series, yet their biggest sellers (Nano) only gets R 300 - R 500 cuts.
Are they going to discontinue the Nano range ? Who would pay R1699 for the 8G Nano when you can get the 8G Touch for for R 300 bucks more.

Why buy them locally when you can get them overseas for half the price. I'm sorry but what Core are doing is daylight robbery and it saddens me that this site promotes them.

I think the sales are not that high on the iPods anymore. Lately people just get the iPhone on contract. Plus I think most people that wanted an iPod, has one by now, so sales must be dropping, hence the decrease. So now all the die hards that didn't mind waiting a few years until a price drop, will now buy one, or so they hope.

Great, so now the prices are just excessively over-inflated as opposed to obscenely over-inflated.

I've been shopping for a Third Gen iPod Touch 32Gb recently and the best price I could find anywhere in South Africa was about R3,300. The new price by Core beats this other price hands-down and I am very impressed by the 25% (TWENTYFIVE PERCENT) reduction in the retail price. Considering the US retail price of $299.99, the exchange ratio is 1:10, which is just about what you can expect for imported products. Well done, and about fricking time.
